The 2019 CHRYSLER PACIFICA PLUG-IN HYBRID has 5 complaints and 3 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners commonly report issues related to recall repairs that cannot be completed due to unavailable parts. Common Issues
- Unaddressed recalls. Owners report recall repairs pending for extended periods with no parts available, causing delays beyond reasonable timeframes.
- Fire risk advisory. Some vehicles are considered unsafe to park indoors or near other cars due to risk of fire or explosion from the battery pack.
- Service delays. Dealerships cite staff shortages and long wait times extending up to several weeks before repairs can be performed on recalls.
- Vehicle shutdown warnings. Notices to “Pull Over Immediately” appear while driving, followed by required transmission rebuilds and software updates.
There are 3 recalls affecting this vehicle. The recalls involve electrical and hybrid propulsion system components, posing fire risks that require specific parking and charging restrictions until repair. Repair parts and remedies have been slow to arrive and dealers face challenges completing fixes promptly.
Recalls
- Hybrid Propulsion System. (NHTSA Campaign 24V538000, 3606 vehicles) The battery pack may cause fires while parked even when off. Owners must not charge the vehicle and should park outside away from structures. Dealers will update software and inspect or replace the battery pack assembly at no cost. Owner notification began March 6, 2025.
- 12 Volt Isolator Post Wiring. (NHTSA Campaign 20V334000, 23079 vehicles) The isolator post behind the driver’s seat may overheat from high resistance, raising fire risk. Dealers will increase torque, add waterproof gaskets, and inspect for contamination. Compromised parts will be replaced. Interim inspections and loaners provided if needed. Owners advised not to park indoors or near other vehicles until fixed.
- 12 Volt Battery Cables. (NHTSA Campaign 20V334000, 23079 vehicles) Same as above recall involving the 12 volt isolator post and cables increase fire hazard. Remedy procedures and owner precautions are identical to the 12 volt isolator post recall.
Owners facing recurring recall notifications that lack effective repairs, safety hazards due to unresolved defects, or repeated mechanical breakdowns may have protections under state lemon laws. Consulting legal resources can help clarify rights for those with persistent vehicle problems or recall complications.

We received multiple reminders for the recalls to be addressed, but each time we make an appointment at various service centers, they say that they cannot address the recall due to staff shortage and parts not being available. This has been persisting for over 4 years. Chrysler does not make a good faith effort to address these recalls. Most recently, we had an appointment and they (Spring Autonation in Spring, TX) told us that they would have to hold the car for weeks before being able to get to it due to shortage of staff as they only have two service members who can address it. Helfman Dodge said they holding time would be 3-4 weeks before being able to get to it. Teh reminders for the three recalls are coming from the dealerships, and yet they are not able to address them.

UNKNOWN/RECALL NOT BEING FIXABLE FOR MONTHS: due to a recall from mid-2024 which cannot be fixed, the vehicle is no longer safe to have parked in my garage, near my home, next to other vehicles, and is now not able to be used as intended. The risk of fire and/or explosion should require a manufacturer buyback. These vehicles have been dangerous for MONTHS.
