2019 CHRYSLER 300 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2019 CHRYSLER 300 has 17 complaints and 5 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with unresolved airbag recall repairs due to unavailable parts. Other common complaints include the vehicle shutting off during driving, problems with the infotainment system disabling headlights, abnormal dashboard noises, and malfunctioning door warning lights.
Common Issues- Airbag recall delays. Multiple owners report receiving recall notifications for airbag inflators, but parts have not been available, preventing completion of the recall repair.
- Vehicle stalling. Some reports detail the car shutting off while driving, followed by difficulty restarting and unusual noises during restart attempts.
- Infotainment and headlights malfunction. At least one complaint describes the infotainment center causing headlights to disable unexpectedly while driving at night.
- Fuel gauge problems. Concerns about inaccurate fuel gauge readings and low fuel light failures have been mentioned alongside stalling incidents.
- Abnormal engine noise. An unusual sound originating from the area between the dashboard and engine occurs at low speeds, without warning lights illuminating, and remains undiagnosed by dealers.
- Door warning light errors. The rear passenger door warning light and interior dome light flash intermittently while the door is closed, causing driver concern, especially on highways.
- Delayed dealer response. Some owners report dealers delay or fail to provide updates regarding recall part availability or repair status.
- Smell of fuel. A gasoline odor when accelerating was reported, coinciding with an outstanding recall and dealer parts unavailability.
The 2019 CHRYSLER 300 has five recalls affecting various systems including airbags and the instrument cluster. These recalls address airbag inflator defects and instrument cluster illumination failures that can impact occupant safety and driver awareness.
Recalls- Air Bags: Curtain Inflators. NHTSA recall 24V198000 affects 284,982 vehicles including the 2019 Chrysler 300. The side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect, risking sharp metal fragments striking occupants and causing injury or death. Dealers will replace both side curtain air bags free of charge. Parts availability issues have delayed repairs for some owners. Owner notification letters began mailing February 20, 2025.
- Instrument Cluster Illumination. NHTSA recall 19V203000 affects 7,929 vehicles. The instrument cluster may fail to properly illuminate driver warnings, which might prevent the driver from receiving alerts about vehicle systems and increase crash risk. Dealers will update the instrument cluster software free of charge. The recall began April 8, 2019.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs, unresolved safety recalls, or ongoing safety defects should consider their rights under state lemon laws. Persistent issues involving safety-related components or failure to obtain timely repairs could qualify for legal remedies.

Safety Recall 19B/NHTSA 24V-198/SABIC Inflator. Two (2) recall notices have been received (March 2024 and May 2025). A local Chicago area dealership, Tyson Chrysler, advises that replacement parts have not been received for the 2019 model vehicles, but have been received for model years 2020 and 2021. As a result, the potential danger associated with possible rupture of the SABIC Inflator Curtains in my 2019 Chrysler 300S continues to exist, and may lead to catastrophic failure and personal injury as the vehicle repair remains unresolved.

Unknown. The car shut off while driving. Flashing a code put in park and the D on the shifter knob was flashing. Vehicle wouldn't start for about 30 minutes. It was making a loud noise while trying to restart. Then it ran like normal after that. We are not shure but we think the fuel gage and low fuel light are not working properly. We put a few gallons of fuel in it and it started normally with no no loud noise.
