Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Risk: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Chrysler 200, Jeep Renegade, RAM ProMaster, and 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles equipped with 9-speed automatic transmissions. The transmission sensor clusters may have insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness, and as a result, the transmission may unexpectedly shift to neutral. On August 29, 2016 Chrysler added the 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles to this recall.

Risk: If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured April 7, 2014, to August 3, 2015. During service work, the affected vehicles may have had either the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) or the Seat Cushion Foam (SCF) of the front passenger seat replaced instead of the both pieces together, which make up a complete calibrated set.

Risk: If both pieces were not replaced together, the occupant detection and classification system may not be properly calibrated and the passenger air bag may improperly deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured January 7, 2014, to September 23, 2014. The affected vehicles may have a Power Distribution Center (PDC) electrical connector that may cause intermittent power failures to certain electrical components.

Risk: An intermittent loss of power to electrical components could cause a vehicle to stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.

Risk: Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured March 9, 2014, to December 15, 2014, and equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission parking pawl may become contaminated or the park rod may become dislodged or broken. This may prevent the transmission from shifting into the Park position.

Risk: If the shift indicator displays "Park" but the park lock does not engage, the vehicle may roll away increasing the risk of a crash.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured May 19, 2014, to June 21, 2014. The affected vehicles may have been built with a driver side door wiring harness of an insufficient wire gauge, resulting in excessive heat which may melt the wiring insulation.

Risk: Excessive heat and melting wiring insulation may result in an electrical short, increasing the risk of a fire.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the A/C failed to function as intended. The contact stated that when the A/C failed, the temperature gauge on the vehicle was elevated. The contact parked the vehicle, turned off the engine, and called a tow truck. The vehicle was towed to the residence, and then towed to the dealer. The contact was informed that the Power Distribution Center (PDC) electrical connector had failed, which caused intermittent power failures of certain electrical components. The contact was provided with an image of the fuse box, which showed that the fuse box was burnt. The contact was informed that the fan fire, PDC connector, and assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained at the dealer pending the repair. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V470000 ( ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 147,000.

Safety Recall P43/NHTSA 14V-480 involves the 2015 Chrysler 200 with Driver One-Touch Power Windows built. Driver windows panel does not operate correctly and driver and passenger windows are inoperative due drivers front door wiring harness. The odometer also flashes while driving.

Friday, I was stuck in traffic when I noticed my temperature rising. I couldn’t pull to the side or turn my car off or do anything to get me safely out of the situation, my car then reached at what I last seen 275 degrees before shutting down. I had to leave my car setting as it was smoking and undrivable at this point. Later that night I got my car back home and upon further inspection my fan has abruptly stopped working, it is still getting voltage (bought a new fan) and that one also will not work either. When we checked the voltage it is backwards despite it never being worked on before. There’s electrical problems with these cars and they need addressed. I was left in 98 degree heat for almost 2 hours because of these issues. Next time it could be a woman and her children. Please fix this.

I’m writing to report a recurring issue with the catalytic converter on my vehicle. I had it replaced less than five years ago after the original one failed, which ultimately caused damage requiring a full engine replacement. Now, the replacement catalytic converter is failing again. I’ve owned my car for 11 years and have always taken good care of it. I find it extremely frustrating—and financially burdensome—to face potentially thousands of dollars in repairs again for what seems to be a recurring, possibly faulty issue. I’m requesting that Chrysler investigate this matter and provide assistance or a resolution, as this does not seem like normal wear and tear.

The dash display behind the steering wheel flashes, the radio system restarts itself multiple times throughout a 15-minute trip between stops. At one point, the antenna wasn't even picking up a signal and the radio system only gave out static audio. Whatever has been the issue has caused me to have to change my alternator and multiple batteries since purchasing it. I would've reached out sooner, had I known this was an option..

The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and attempting to shift the gear shifter on several occasions, the vehicle failed to shift into the intended gear. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle responded as needed. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to drive to make a turn from a complete stop at a five-way intersection, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles related to the Power Distribution Center (PDC) connector. I’m having issues with the heat and radio controls and my care doesn’t seem to have the recall I bought the car 2023 but this just started end of last year. My car has stalled and died then runs really bad when started back up then my militate blinks and my head and radio controls does not work I’m not sure when my car was built but if it was still for 2015 Chryslers it shouldn’t matter the date it was built because some of us are still having issues

We purchased our vehicle brand new in 2015 with 6 miles on it. 1. The vehicle has always shifted hard, but every time I brought it up at the dealership I was told that "the car is just learning my driving habits" Here we are 10 years later and my car is still shifting hard and it still won't fall into gear like it's supposed to. 2. Within the first 6 months the airbag light came on and would throw a warning message on the display, to have it checked. Even after acknowledging that I had seen the message it would beep at me and come on almost immediately. I took it in to the dealership on 3 different occasions while it was still under the 3 year warranty. The first two times I asked about it the dealership told me that they found a water bottle stuck under the passengers seat and that it was causing the wires to not stay connected. They claimed that it fixed the problem each time. The third time I took it in I made sure there was no trash under the seat and reset the light. After a day or so the warning light came back on. This time they said they would replace the parts under the seat, but I went to pick up my vehicle the dealership seemed confused about what was supposed to have been done. Then they said it was all fixed and hustled me out the door. I've asked about the issue at least 2 more times since being out of warranty. The dealership wants me to pay nearly $2,000 to have it fixed even though they say there's a known issue. And when my son and I were hit from the side in 2022 the airbags didn't deploy and I'm guessing it has to do with that light being on still to this day.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. I was driving my car on highway and it shifted into Neutral and I didn’t have any power to get over on the shoulder of the road and almost caused a crash and my service transmission light came on.

The contact stated while driving 10-15 MPH and making a left turn on a bridge, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle slid to the side of the road next to the curb. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle had collapsed onto the front tires. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The vehicle was later towed to the residence and was then towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic replaced the front suspension. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle made an abnormal cackling sound and was very sluggish. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where unknown diagnostic trouble codes were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was unreachable.
