The fuel filler neck for the diesel has a plastic neck extension made of cheap plastic and it broke making it a hazard to even fill the vehicle up and diesel fuel is spilled, not secured, and fumes could cause a fire hazard because the piece is faulty. I along with many owners have experienced the widespread OnStar/telematics module failures in the current generation Tahoe and GM vehicles, which cause onboard system outages like navigation, safety alerts, city emergency services, cellular connectivity, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and even instrument cluster functions sometimes going offline. The part is often back-ordered with no ETA, while GM denied warranty coverage causing the owner to pay for the replacement part and all labor.

The sliding center console/armrest in my 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe moves too easily and does not remain securely locked in place when fully extended forward. Even light pressure, such as when a passenger or driver rests an elbow, can cause it to shift suddenly. This can startle the driver and cause a momentary loss of focus, creating a safety hazard while the vehicle is in motion. When the console is fully extended forward, it should lock in position. In my vehicle, it often fails to stay locked, allowing unintended movement in each direction. This happens during normal driving conditions and can be triggered accidentally by an occupant’s elbow or arm. The sudden movement is distracting, especially at highway speeds, and could contribute to an unsafe driving situation. GM issued TSB PIE0677B in April 2022 describing this exact condition (“Power Floor Console Armrest will not lock in place and/or console lid slides back and forth freely”), indicating they are aware of the defect. However, there has been no recall. Given the potential for distraction and loss of control, this should be addressed as a safety recall.

2022 Tahoe RST with 5.3 10 Speed. Bought new in Sept of 2021. The 2022 we have had problems with shuttering in the drivetrain from very low miles. We have brought it into the dealership atleast 3-4 times before for this issue. This was all while it was still under its 60k drivetrain warranty. Dealership always told us that since there was no check engine light or codes that they can’t fix what is not broke or broke yet. We needed to wait for it to break or light then bring it in. We also received a letter in the mail for the trans recall (program)last year which was preformed. That day after, my wife started to notice it shuttering more than usual and more often. I call the dealership that performed the recall which they said to bring it in. After looking it over. I get a call saying that I should get the transfer case fluid, front and rear diff fluid changed. It might be the transfer case slipping. Advisor told me that since it was about due for this service. Fast forward to May 9th of this year. My wife was at church. She parked it which it ran fine. Came out about 30-40 mins later put it into drive and wheels where locked up. She called me panicking that something was wrong. Go to her aid which I had to have it towed to the same dealership that serviced it before. Even check it in with the same advisor that helped us before after the recall issue. I should now mention our 22 Tahoe has 68,700 miles. Dealership called us a few days later saying it was the valve body. Especially since we had have problems before with the drivetrain and documented. The vehicle is still inoperable. We are waiting for a valve body with no ETA.

On 6/26/2025, I was on an elevated one lane exit ramp of a major freeway. My 2022 Tahoe suddenly lost complete power with no warning at all. The car behind me slammed on his brakes and narrowly missed me as I could do nothing except get as close to the concrete barrier as possible. Thankfully the Tahoe went into Neutral so I managed to roll down the ramp. I prayed that I could get across 3 lanes of the frontage road without getting hit so I could safely make it into a parking lot. I had to call a wrecker even though I was literally two driveways down from a Chevrolet dealership. I could not make it that far with no power and using only the momentum from the exit ramp to get me to safety. I have 32,635 miles on the Tahoe. It was a faulty fuel pump power control module.

Faulty valve body Safety was put at risk, I was traveling on a 4 lane road at 45 mph when my vehicle experienced a significant jump in RPM with immediate loss of propulsion. I immediately drove to the dealership as the incident was frightening. The vehicle was also not able to go into reverse. This valve body failure issue has been confirmed by the GM Chevy Dealership, and GM corporate executive services. My vehicle has been undriveable and at the dealership since 3/4/25. This is a known issue with GM, parts are not available and are back ordered with no ETA on when they will be available. Even with a replaced valve body it is likely the vehicle will have future transmission issues &/ additional valve body failure. Please strongly consider a recall related to this known issue and safety concern.

On May 9th, 2025 we had to have our 2022 Tahoe towed to the local dealership. There was a transmission error message and the battery was completely drained. The dealer put a new battery in it for $485 and we were told it was good to go. The next day, the car would not go into Reverse. Had to have it towed back to the dealership and was told that the Transmission failure was a recalled part and would be covered. Later we were called and told even though the part that had failed is in fact the same part in the open recall, that our VIN was not on the recall list and the cost to fix the vehicle would not be covered. In addition to all the headaches and money out of pocket (rental cars, tows, new battery) we now have to wait at least 4 - 6 weeks to receive the recalled part but since our VIN is not on the 2022 Tahoe recall list (even though it is the same part as the recall that failed), we are having to pay out of pocket for the repairs. Chevy needs to stand behind this recall and cover the cost.

It was towed to the South pointe chevrolet dealership in tulsa. I was told a fuse had failed and paid nearly $400. On April 17, 2025 they returned my Tahoe and said it fixed. [XXX] When i tried to start engine, then it acted like something almost can't start, then i text dealership and told them situation. On [XXX], the same failure occurred again — again at highway speed — nearly causing an accident with an 18-wheeler. The Tahoe was towed a second time. 2 times i was able to re-start engine drive until i stop then can't start it agian. Both time i smell something burned when i tried to re-start it. On April 21, I texted the service manager about GM TSB N252494000, which describes propulsion loss involving the L87 engine — the same engine in my Tahoe. Two days later, I was sent an invoice for $865.30 for a starter replacement. I was told the repair would not be covered under warranty — despite the vehicle still being under 60,000 miles at the time and the defect appearing to fall under a known GM issue. This is a recurring, life-threatening failure that GM and its dealer have not fixed. The vehicle is still under warranty, yet GM is refusing to cover the repairs. Driving my Tahoe (67,000 miles) down the highway and everything is perfectly fine, suddenly all of the check engine lights began to flash. I wasn’t sure if it was an electrical glitch or not until the engine started knocking loudly. I was on a bridge in traffic and had no where to safely pull over. I had to drive a few miles further just to get to safety at which point the knocking became extremely loud and the entire car began shaking. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where they informed me the lifters had gone out as well as the cam shaft. Apparently this is a very common occurrence among owners of this vehicle/similar vehicle. I am so grateful this is the one time my two small babies were not with me. It was a very scary situation and I was hours from home. This came completely out of no where without warning. Of course this happened 7,000 miles out of warranty. So now after paying over $70,000 for a vehicle that is barely 3 years old and only driven in town for the majority of that, I was stranded and now going to be out $10,000 to repair.

While driving from Boise, Idaho to Jackson, Wyoming our 2022 Tahoe 6.2L with 70K miles shut down at 85MPH on Highway 84 outside of Pocatello. Luckily, my wife was able to coast off the exit. We had the Tahoe towed to the Dealer and advised it would be 4 months for a new engine as our order was number 4,000 in line for an engine. Luckily, all of a sudden engines arrived from the supplier and was replaced in 3-4 weeks. Tariffs must have sped up the process. Downside, I paid 50% as we were out of warranty and GM would not cover the entire cost. Now I see the recall and would expect to be re-imbursed. We will see.

At 22,000 miles on the Interstate highway, vehicle suddenly lost all power, no throttle, went into neutral and we were lucky to be able pull it off to the shoulder without an accident. It had stalled and after multiple tries we were able to restart it. Then the check engine light came on and we drove it directly to dealer. There was a code for camshaft sensor and we were told all lifters needed to be replaced. Upon doing so, they found metal pieces in the engine and said entire engine needed to be replaced. The engine was on back order for up to several months. We waited a month then decided to trade due to loss of vehicle use. Dealer was very helpful during repair but no assistance from GM for a known issue on the 6.2L that could have had a negative outcome on the highway. This was not only a safety issue but a very expensive situation to trade out of for an almost new car.

Purchased brand new. Had for awhile and the veh shook. Took it in and the replaced with all brand new lifters. Still not correct than replaced with all new fuel injectors. Now when I take it in for the last several months it’s 1.5 to 2 quarts low on oil. Told that GM standard says 1.5 quarts low between oil changes is normal!!! I’m currently on an oil consumption test at each 1,000 miles snd I’m at 2 qrts with 1,500 til my next oil change. The volume on the radio goes up and the computer is stuck and you cannot turn the radio off or use the computer screen at all. You have to turn off the vehicle and start it again in order for the buttons to work.

At 30,534 miles, and still under warranty (5.3L V8) I had a complete engine failure without warning. Catastrophic and immediate engine failure. Latest word was a cam and lifter problem on a vehicle still under warranty. Repair time stated at 1-3 months. Engine failure occurred on a business trip en route to Dallas, TX in rural Oklahoma. Paid $275 for towining, $115 for a hotel and $360 for a rental car. Zero compensation.

On 2/27/25, I was driving down the highway and the dash stated "push start for engine" and began to lose all power. The engine seized with no other warning. I was able to safely pull over to the side of road and was then towed to the shop. This vehicle has been serviced on a regular basis. It was found that the engine had blown and am still waiting for a replacement.

3 Separate Major Problems: 03/23 - 8500 miles. Driving at 70mph on highway, received message on drivers display "Conditions Not Correct For Shift", car went into Neutral, no acceleration possible. Was able to safely get off highway. Stopped car, and restarted, error went away and car was able to be driven further without incident. Chose to not take in for service, 4/23 - 9000 miles. Noticed fluttering noise coming from engine bay when lifting off gas after acceleration. Service eventually found lifter/bearing issue. Whole engine was replaced under warranty. Was without car for 3 months. Further research online found that others experienced the same issue while driving and had engine failure at speed resulting in life threatening driving conditions. 4/25 - 31000 miles. Last weekend, driving at highway speeds and came to traffic standstill in left lane on major highway. Went to accelerate, and received "Conditions Not Correct for Shift" message, car went into Neutral and would not accelerate. Turned car off, and tried to restart and car was stuck in Park. No way to access Neutral, leading to blocking of left lane where cars were approaching and avoiding us at highway speeds. OnStar was notified immediately with the severity of danger stressed (2 adults, 2 children and dog remained buckled in the vehicle). However, CHP took over 1 hour to arrive, shut down highway and somehow was able to start the car one time and get into Neutral for CHP to push car safely to shoulder. Dealership alerted me to failed "Fuel Control Module" To have to 3 major engine related incidents that could have lead to accident or death is unacceptable. Online research shows these issues have been common for this vehicle engine and is absolutely unacceptable. For a driver to not be able to safely engage a Neutral override is absolutely unacceptable. I was informed by the tow truck driver that a special tool was needed and you had to crawl under the vehicle to engage neutral override.

While driving on the highway the engine started to makes noise and shut down in seconds without warning- we glided down an off-ramp narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic and was towed away on the ramp - the engine only has 68,000 miles and it well maintained. It’s my understanding that the NHTSA is investigating problems with the 6.2 L engines on 2022 Tahoes that have sudden lost of power please add my name to the investigation- GM has refused to help I’m hoping that a recall which is warranted will help with the $11,869 cost to replace the engine.

Suddenly started to not respond to acceleration, and jolting, then would not reverse. Transmission valve body has already gone out. GM acknowledged the problem. States there is a national shortage of this part. There is nothing they know of being done about. Park the vehicle and wait for a part to become available. No ETA, but 2,200 of this part have already been requested recently.

Vehicle suddenly lost power at 70mph in heavy traffic. This was after a very brief flash of the electrical system off and then back on. Vehicle was safely pulled to the side of the road (luckily). The electrical system kept demanding to “push start” and then would shut off and then immediately come back on, but without the engine starting. The vehicle would not completely turn off, or turn back on from that point forward, killing the battery in the process. We called Onstar, who had it towed to Bill Estes Chevrolet in Carmel Indiana. Mark in the service department then informed us that the engine was completely seized up and would require an engine replacement.

While driving down the highway, the vehicle suddenly experienced multiple issues. The headlights went out, the vehicle would not continue to accelerate, and all interior lights shut off. The vehicle then shifted into neutral and stalled. There were no warning signs or indicators before this happened. Our safety was at risk as we barely managed to pull the vehicle over to the shoulder, with no working emergency lights. The highway had no street lights, and we were constantly worried about being hit by other cars since our vehicle was nearly invisible without the emergency lights. The malfunction left us stranded more than two hours from home. We had to have the vehicle towed to a Chevrolet dealership for inspection, which was also over two hours away. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms—everything happened suddenly without any notice.

I was driving the truck on the highway and on slower roads. The trucks auto break kept coming on, it could have caused an accident or worse to my family in the truck and others around us driving. This happened twice before but only did it once. Last night it happened to us around 15 times. We had to get off the roads for everyone’s safety. We haven’t had it inspected yet because it just happened. No lights or warning messages showed up at the time. The check engine light came on at the end of all that tho. When I got out of the truck I could smell the burning of the breaks or tires.

The check engine light illuminated cause us to park the vehicle until diagnosed. The diagnosis is the Onstar system has failed causing the check engine light to illuminate. Even without paying the fee for onstar the light still illuminates rendering the vehicle “disabled” under Indiana clean air requirements. They will not run the required emissions test to certify or plate your car with a check engine light on. The dealer stated the vehicle can still be driven however we will no longer know if there are ancillary issues because the check engine light goes on and off. Ironically this happened two months after a software recall performed by the dealer. If the vehicle is safe to drive with an onstar failure there should be no reason the check engine light illuminates taking attention away from more serious potential issues.

Driving on interstate (I55 - traveling South bound, Bridge over water) traveling at 70 MPH engine started to make loud noise and car was shuttering. We were able to take the immediate next exit. After taking the exit, within minute or two, the car/engine shut off with no way of restarting or steering. The engine did start to smoke when the hood was popped to inspect. Tow truck was called to transport us to the local Chevy dealer in Hammond LA - Ross Downing Chevrolet. Since it was a Saturday, we had to wait for the dealership to reopen on Monday. On Monday, I was called and told that there was indeed complete engine failure, and later in the day it was determined that it was due to a rod bearing issue. GM was contacted since I was 3,000 miles outside of my warranty, and the agreed to cover roughly $17,000 of the repair to completely replace the engine. I was out of pocket $3,227.56. All oil changes and maintenance were on time and kept up with. Just had an oil change roughly a week earlier before the engine failure. There were no lights that came on the dashboard even after the vehicle completely failed.

While driving under normal conditions, the 6.2L engine in our 2022 Chevy Tahoe seized and stopped running. We were lucky that it was early in the morning and without a lot of traffic and were able to coast the vehicle safely off of the road. Upon inspection from the dealership, they indicated that the engine experienced catastrophic failure. The dealership replaced the engine, Battery, Starter, Fuse box, and steering gear. We were lucky as the failure occurred just prior to us getting onto the interstate. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lights or issues with the vehicle. It was a sudden and catastrophic failure.
