I am writing to express my serious concern and frustration regarding the unresolved recall on my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 (VIN: [XXX] ). Despite multiple visits to multiple dealerships, I was repeatedly told that the necessary parts to complete the recall repair were on back order and instructed to “wait for parts.” No interim solution or assistance was ever offered. As a result of this delay, my vehicle broke down without warning, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. This created a hazardous situation and significant disruption to my day. To make matters worse, I had to pay out of pocket to have the truck towed to a repair shop in an effort to get it operational—an expense I should never have incurred given the known recall and repeated attempts to have the issue corrected by Chevrolet. I have been a loyal Chevrolet owner and have always trusted the brand for its quality and dependability. However, this delay and lack of proactive support is causing significant inconvenience and eroding that trust. This situation is unacceptable for several reasons: 1.Safety Risk and Recall Obligation: Chevrolet acknowledged the defect by issuing a recall, yet I have been forced to operate a vehicle that does not meet your own safety standards for months. 2.Repeated Service Attempts with No Resolution: I followed the proper process and visited an authorized dealer multiple times, only to be turned away each time with no solution beyond “wait for parts.” 3.Breakdown and Financial Loss: The vehicle failure and subsequent towing expense are a direct consequence of Chevrolet’s inability to provide timely parts or alternative accommodations. We received a recall on this truck 2/2025 showing that there was a transmission control valve defect that was causing excessive wear on the gears. We took it into Sands Chevrolet and they did a repair under warranty. Within a few weeks, the truck again lost power, would not go over 30 MPH and caused a safety issue as it happened while on the highway. We immediately took the truck back to Sands who informed us of the recall and that the transmission needed to be repaired because of the excessive wear under the recall. Sands Chevrolet told us it would be 2 months before they could repair it. However, there was another local shop that could so we took it there and had it repaired within days. The dealership told us to submit our invoice and credit card statement showing that we paid the $5575 out of pocket that we were told we would be reimbursed for. Now, Chevy is denying that there was even a recall on the vehicle.... but I have the letter from GM showing the recall and the local Sands dealership is the one that told us to go get it fixed. I have the scan of the safety recall, but it is not letting me upload it here. It is GM Recall # N242454440

The tailgate would open and close on its own. I was about ready to connect my fifth wheel RV for a trip when suddenly as I closed the truck door to back up I saw that the tailgate had opened. I proceeded to put it in park and the tailgate closed on its own. Got out as leaving the door to the pickup I walked to the rear of the truck to notice the tailgate open and close on its own. I am expecting this issue to be recalled for a repair as I have read that 2024 has this same issue and that they will be recalling trucks from 2020-2024.The issue is due to a faulty relay when wet. This vehicle is equipped with power-unlatching tailgate. I believe if this issue would have went unnoticed and continued to hook up my fifth wheel the damage would have been horrific. Thanking you in advance, Sincerely, [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving on Interstate 75 in Ohio when the engine suddenly overheated and completely locked up we were pulling my travel trailer camper at the time which we ended up getting off of an overpass and blocking traffic for several hours until we got the vehicles moved Chevrolet did eventually replace the motor and the entire cooling system with what they claim is a new motor in October of 2024, and within the last couple of days I have noticed a smell coming from the engine compartment that was reminiscent about the smell when it locked up I'm afraid they stuck another motor in my truck that has the same exact issues and once it goes out of warranty I'm going to be stuck with another broke down truck

While driving the truck it will have a hash upshift which has happened on five different occasions plus on two other occasions after first startup and drive the transmission will not shift out of third gear it will just wind up the RPM's as if transmission is stuck in third gear. I have to let off throttle then accelerate and back-off a couple of times to get transmission to shift out of third gear. The software upgrade is not a fix for this recall as it does not address the problem. The valve body installed in these ten speed transmission is a manufactures design flaw along with using inferior parts required for the safe operation of this vehicle. There are documented claims of the valve body failing causing catastrophic failure of the entire transmission and GM Corporation will only cover the valve body. GM has told it's customers that they will warranty the VB only that the other damages are not covered. The recall letter I receiver indicates that only the VB is covered. This is unacceptable. It is because of the VB failure that the transmission will suffered catastrophic failure, Without a properly functioning VB the transmission cannot receive the lubrication it needs to function properly. I have not had the software update as their are reports of customers trucks going into limp mode shortly afterwards. Their trucks are then parked on dealer lots as parts are currently unavailable for weeks at a time in some cases months. These customers use these truck for their livelihood and they invested a large amount of money purchasing these trucks only to be told So sorry GM will not cover your claim even through it was our defective VB that destroyed your transmission. These trucks are not cheap to purchase nor to properly maintain.

1. Transmission recall N242454440 Chevy 2500hd Diesel Silverado 2020yr. Jan 2025 valve body inside transmission was replaced, recall pending, parts not available, NOT DONE. 2. Currently having this issue but no recall information found for my Vin...The "P22F9" engine code on a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 diesel indicates a recall related to the NOx sensor, specifically a "slow response" issue with the sensor, which the Engine Control Module (ECM) might not properly detect; this recall requires a software update to the ECM to address the problem. Key points about this recall: •Affected vehicles: Primarily 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 trucks with diesel engines, as well as similar GMC Sierra models. •Issue: The ECM may not accurately identify faults with the NOx sensor, potentially leading to emission issues and reduced engine performance. 3. P1089 fuel deceleration problem, several repairs were done but problem still persists. GM engineer's told dealership having problems with computer duplicated codes in memory. Engine light goes on and off over 50,000 miles, vehicle runs great and no gas found in oil. At one point engine light was off for 14,000 miles. *P1089 should definitely be a RECALL ITEM! MISC: Yes available for inspection. No safety problems as of yet. All repairs were done at dealerships and confirmed by dealership. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NO * I have contacted GM management staff in Michigan Mr. Craig Gidden, senior executive liaison, which referred me to CA customer service and supervisor, all to no avail, absolutely horrible customer service! They did not want to provide their contact information etc. *Contacted the GM arbitration department, they provided a case number but will not provide or respond to my emails for supervisor and GM legal department information.

In 2024, I noticed that my truck was experiencing rough shifts. It felt as if the back wheels were jerking over uneven ground, even though the vehicle was on a flat surface. In November 2024, my sister sent me an article about General Motors' massive recall due to rear wheel lock-up, which increased the risk of crashes. I contacted GM and learned that my truck was part of the recall. I reported the issues my truck was exhibiting, and GM instructed me to reach out to my dealer about the problem. However, I was informed that they did not have the parts to fix the issue and had no idea when they would receive them. I asked GM if they would provide me with a rental vehicle, but they declined, stating that if they offered a rental to me, they would have to provide one for others as well, which was not feasible due to the large number of affected vehicles. I explained that my truck is my daily driver for work, and I frequently transport my grandchildren in it. Driving the truck was hazardous given the issues it was already exhibiting. I was told to contact my dealer, and since my truck was under warranty, they should provide me with a rental. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was informed that they would only reiterate the same information. I then contacted my dealer, Sapaugh GM Country, located at 1435 McNutt St., Herculaneum, MO. I was informed that they do not have the parts. but they did a minor tweak which has caused more damage to my powertrain and engine.
