I was slowing down when coming upon another vehicle. When I accelerated there was no power and I realized the engine had stalled. I was in the outer lane of 3 lanes of heavy traffic and was able to coast into a parking lot and stop. Luckily I was in the outer lane and in the right place at the right time to be able to get out of traffic. I got a text message instantly from OnStar saying to have the engine and transmission serviced immediately. The engine would not start. I called my dealership and told them what happened. They gave me a phone number for a tow service who towed the truck to their dealership garage. I had no prior messages or symptoms that the engine was going to fail. The dealership removed the faulty fuel pump module and replaced the fuel pump control module. I feel very fortunate that my wife and I were at a place where we could exit the highway and get help quickly.

See attached document for complaint. When contacting my local dealership, Dick Hannah Chevrolet located in Sandy Oregon the Service Representative BXXXXX explained to me that they could not complete service in the form of inspection. BXXXXX recommended that I defer my request for a month. This is an example of Chevrolet, and the local dealership combining in a course of action meant to deceive their customers. While on the one hand they indicate an interest in activating the recall on the other hand they refuse to provide service. The customer, me, is left in no mans land with a serious recall condition unable to seek resolution. My request, investigate both the Company, Chevrolet, and the dealership and pursue resolution as the recall is intended.

My forward collision light what on sp i took the vehicle in to have it fixed under warranty. Upon having that part replaced the dealership informed me my OnStar module (unsure of technical name) was bad and that the vehicle would be inoperable until it is replaced. The part is on backorder with no ETA. My safety is a major concern as this module controls several safety braking features and with me unaware of its malfunction a collision would have caused severe injury or death.

When I bought the truck it was working fine. Went through Chevy and got all the inspections done before buying the truck and it worked fine. About 2 months later my front collision automatic breaking, lane keep and assist, and automatic high berms stopped working. I’ve talked to many other Silverado owners and this is happening to them too. Even when trying to reset it. With the amount of times this has happened to all these Silverado’s a recall should absolutely happen because having to pay for this is crazy when it’s happening to so many vehicles

While towing a camping trailer, the brakes for the trailer kept issuing a warning saying "connected" then "not connected - check trailer brake wiring". Then "trailer brake not connected". After a while the brake system stopped working entirely. The 30 amp fuse that controls the trailer braking system blows out. This fuse is not a common fuse and not available at some auto parts stores (not really convenient while towing away from home). Evidently there is a problem with the brake control module that is factory installed. The module does not like the charging system on the trailer battery. I have spent hundreds of dollars and many hours in different shops trying to trace down this problem. It is very unsafe to have the trailer brakes not work while driving. This faulty module needs to be recalled. Part # 23306694

Code p0307 misfire on cylinder 7. Have gotten code 3 times in last month. Lights on dash and reduced power. Less than 50k miles when first occurred. Turn off and back on all lights gone except for engine light which goes off in a day then runs fine. Dealer quoted $3k+ to replace injectors. $60k+ for a new vehicle it should last more than 2 years and 50k miles. 5 yr 60k mile engine and power train warranty but they pick and choose what components to cover. After looking online I see many owners with same issues. Some with hardly any miles. Other recalls done with different motor sizes. HELP!!!

The trailer brake controller goes off and on. A message in the truck reads trailer brakes off, trailer brakes on, check wiring. Repeats every 45 seconds or so. You never know when you have trailer brakes or not. Did not have trouble prior 3 years with a different truck? I saw 2022 trucks had a safety recall but my Vin was not included, which it should have. Very dangerous.

My front passenger side turn signal goes into hyper flash and doesn’t work and my back driver side turnsignal and brake light does the same thing, so when I’m turning other divers have no clue that I’m turning that way which is dangerous, I’ve looked online and seen a lot of other drivers with this same issue and seems to not been resolved yet. I’ve paid a lot of money for this truck and I shouldn’t have this problem, what do I need to do to get this resolved without spending my money for a problem that I did not cause?

General Motors has identified a problem and will not fix or replace the car or engine. I have asked multiple times and there is no answer as to when this recall will be fixed. This is unsatisfactory, it explains that this can cause engine failure and still no answers from GM about this. They owe every single vehicle a replacement motor before someone gets hurt.

2.7l turbo l3b Chevy Silverado started skipping and throwing codes. First the coil packs and plugs were changed. Then crankshaft and camshaft sensors replaced. Then the fuel rail and direct injectors replaced along with harness . Still skipping and making loud noise on startup. Reduced power, etc. mechanic finally got the camshaft carrier off and the very back two exhaust rocker arms were in the carrier. One had lost all needle bearings and one seized up along with both valve lash adjusters broken in half along with one bent valve. As of today, 30 July 2025, I went to buy rocker arms, part # 12701225, and the dealership wouldn’t let me buy them because it’s supposedly getting discontinued so now I have a fairly new truck with no parts to complete repairs.

I am writing because we received a 2nd recall letter about our 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2. It has the recall for the catastrophic engine failure and neither GM or Chevrolet seem interested in helping us. The Chevrolet representative from the BBB said yesterday that we did not qualify for any thing, no buy back and no financial compensation. She has been the only person who did not try to straight up lie about the engine just dead stopping. We had that issue on [XXX], while on the way to Hickory, NC for a doctors appointment for my husband. He is a [XXX]. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan. [XXX]. He has to maintain a strict schedule, every thing done at the same time every day. Meals, showers, chores, bedtime etc. It calms him. I didn’t want him to buy a Chevy truck, but he fell instantly in love with it. He added a bed cover, 3in lift kit, tinted windows, 20in wheels and tires. A chip that opens up the horsepower and a cold air intake. He bought the truck new in July 2023, from Pioneer Chevy in Abingdon VA. So we are moving right along until 17 miles from Morganton Nc when the truck just stopped. We were on the back mountain road so no one was behind us. My husband was able to get the truck in neutral and roll it to a place where we could get off the road. We waited about 2 hours for a tow to Everett Chevrolet. They would not let us have a loaner car so the tow driver took us to Enterprise & waited to make sure we got a car. So none of this keeps him on his schedule. We went back to the Chevy place where the service manager said it would be the next day before he could look at the truck. He did tell us that the truck had the engine failure recall. We had no idea until then. Thankfully the doctor held a place for us, our appointment was at 11:45am but we didn’t get there till around 3:00. We saw the doctor, got food & headed home to TN. And I started contacting anyone INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving on the interstate at speed when the dash cluster stopped responding. All gauges went to zero including RPMs and speed. I was unable to determine if the engine was still running. While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, the vehicle suddenly veered to the right without any driver input, ultimately crashing into a concrete guardrail. At the time of the incident, I was merging into the left lane with my turn signal activated and traveling below the posted speed limit. According to the statement provided to my insurance company—and based on my direct experience—the truck appeared to take control of itself, and I could not prevent it from veering off the road. The impact caused significant front-end damage and triggered the deployment of the airbags. It is important to note that the lane keep assist feature was turned off at the time of the crash—we do not use or rely on this feature. Therefore, the event cannot be attributed to any automated steering correction system. The airbag deployment resulted in serious injuries to the front-seat passenger, who sustained severe burns and blistering to the right arm and hand. The injuries were substantial and are documented in photographs, which can be provided upon request. A VIN search confirmed that this vehicle has no active recalls. However, the circumstances of this crash suggest a potential malfunction in the electronic steering assist, throttle control, or transmission system. After the crash, the vehicle was towed to my insurance company’s preferred collision repair shop. However, I have not authorized any repairs or inspections. I specifically instructed the shop to delay all work until after I file this safety complaint and have the opportunity to request a third-party inspection. The vehicle remains in its post-crash condition, and to the best of my knowledge, the Event Data Recorder (EDR) has not been altered and should still contain valuable diagnostic data. I respectfully request that this incident be investigated as a potential vehicle safety defect. I am providing photographic evidence of the crash damage and resulting injuries.

A search of your site shows I have no unrepaired recalls. That is not true. I had a software update the was intstalled to keep me from going above 7th gear in my 10 speed transmission due to concerns over incidents of transmission/rear end lockup occuring when downshifitng from 8th to 7th gear. This update was done November 27, 2022, at Juneau Toyota, Juneau Alaska 99801. While this is supposed to protect me from a transmission/rear end lockup, it has impacted me in MPG since this updated, especially when towing a travel trailer. My MPG while towing a travel trailer was decreased by 30%. My highway travel MPG has been decreased by 17%. Yes GM is saying they are protecting my self and vechicle, It is costing me a lot at the pump. It has been almost 8 months since the recall updated software was installed and not a word when this will be repaired and I have a 10 speed transmission I purchased from GM back in full operation.

I have a 2022 Chevrolet 1500 Trail Boss with the 6.2. Intermittingly when starting off at a red light or from a stopped position, when you press the gas pedal to go the engine will stall and then will suddenly pick back up after a second or two. This intermittingly issue makes it very dangerous when turning in front of oncoming traffic, or in a situation when sudden acceleration is needed. The motor ticks even at idle when running. Also, when you come to a stop at a redlight, the engine shuts off, when you release the brake to go, the auto start restarts the engine. On my truck, when the starter restarts the engine, the starter will not disengage. You have to put the truck in park, turn the switch off and manually restart the engine to make the starter quit spinning over. This problem is also intermitting. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it dont. I took my truck to Mike Bell Chevrolet twice in Carrollton Georgia, where I bought it. The first time I took it to them was 2-10-25, it was for the starter hanging up in auto-start, they charged me $199.00 to do a diagnostic, told me they could not replicate the issue. Then I took it back to Mike Bell Chevrolet on 7-2-2025 after my wife had called the service department and told them that the engine stalls sometimes when starting off, the woman at Mike Bell said that this is one of the symptoms of the recall on my truck. She said we need to bring it in. They called me back and said they could not get it to replicate the issue and wanted to charge me another $399.00 for checking it. We refused to pay this because it is an active recall and we were advised to bring it in. If this engine stalls in traffic, I want it documented that the engine intermittingly stalls when starting off sometimes in case there is an accident.

It caused my truck to sway side to side and scare the hell out of my son. Definitely not safe. The local dealer says it is a stuck valve or something. It has caused the engine light to come on multiple times, but will go off after 24 hours or so. But it keeps occurring. Happened 3 times on 7-8-25. Give a whiplash feeling to the body as well. One coded P0747 Transmission Solenoid Valve 1 Stuck on invalid configuration Other time was P0700 Transmission Control Module Requested Malfunction Please issue a recall so this can be resolved before an accident or injury occurs.

While driving at freeway speeds, my transmission malfunctioned and caused the rear wheels to briefly lock up. This sudden mechanical failure has occurred four separate times in the past month, each time while traveling at highway speeds. The incident creates a serious safety hazard — sudden rear-wheel lockup at high speeds can lead to loss of control, skidding, or collisions. Fortunately, I was spaced far enough from other vehicles during each occurrence, so no crashes or injuries occurred. However, this issue poses a major safety risk to both the driver and surrounding traffic, especially under different circumstances such as wet roads or heavier traffic. The issue appears to stem from the 10L80E transmission, a component widely used in GM vehicles from model years 2020 through 2025. Based on online forums and discussions, this is a known and recurring problem affecting a number of drivers, not just an isolated case. To date: The problem has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed by a dealer or service center, but it is reproducible, as it has happened multiple times under similar conditions. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to each failure — the malfunction occurred without notice. The component is not yet inspected by the manufacturer, insurance, or police, but it is available for inspection upon request. This issue requires urgent investigation by NHTSA, as it may affect a large number of vehicles on U.S. roads. A sudden drivetrain lockup at highway speeds could lead to catastrophic crashes under less fortunate circumstances I am aware of the Safety recall for vehicle years of 2020 -2022 but my specific truck manufacture date falls just outside the dates by a couple months.

Travel aprox 40 mph. Rear wheels abruptly lock up. Truck skids to a stop. Extremely dangerous situation luckily no accident occurred. Truck is at 72k miles. Warranty is 60k miles. Truck is currently at dealership and they consulted GM engineers at corporate and were told to replace the valve body and it’s $2500 but they will not cover any of the cost. I’m afraid that this wheel lockup will happen again. Especially considering the bandaid fix there recommended. They refused to buy the vehicle back and do not seem the least concerned that my safety possible dead could result from what truly is gm cheaping out on manufacturing the value body from an appropriate metal instead of cheap cast aluminum which is the root cause of all gms transmission issues.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 multiflex tailgate main tailgate unlock/open button has stopped working. The dealership (Marine Chevy Jacksonville NC)stated that they have had to replace alot of them even on the 1500 series. They are now on back order with no expected availability date. Yes my vehicle is available for inspection. Requires the use of the key fob to unlock. I do not know why it has stopped working is it a wiring issue? If it is a wiring issue it should not go out on a vehicle that is less than 3 years old. Also could this cause other electrical issues.

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the failure of the 6.2L V8 engine in my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (VIN: [XXX] ), which is currently under recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000). On Thursday, [XXX], while traveling for work approximately 30 minutes from my home, the engine suddenly failed without warning—just two days after I received the recall notice from GM, which acknowledged the defect but stated there was no current fix available. Fortunately, I was able to safely pull over and was within sight of Hometown Motors (Chevrolet dealership in Fruitland, ID), but still had to pay $100 out-of-pocket to have the truck towed less than 1/4 mile. The dealership later confirmed the engine had failed and ordered a replacement, with an estimated repair time of three weeks. I use this truck daily for my small business, where I co-own and operate a window covering company. The truck is a critical part of my business, used to transport tools, ladders, and product samples. GM and the dealership delayed the rental approval process by two full days, and once finally approved, I was informed by Enterprise that it would be another three days before a vehicle would be available—and it would not be comparable to the Silverado I purchased for over $50,000. As of today, I still do not have a comparable rental vehicle, and I’ve been given multiple excuses as to why one can’t be provided. I cannot operate my business using a small sedan. This engine failure has caused direct financial loss, business disruption, and a complete loss of reliable transportation for work. GM’s failure to provide a timely solution to a known defect is unacceptable, and I urge the NHTSA to investigate the handling of this recall and the lack of appropriate remedies for owners affected—especially those like myself who rely on these vehicles for commercial use. My backup camera has never worked properly since I purchased the vehicle. 7 out of 10 times when I put my truck in reverse, the camera does not work. I’ve had to at the dealership multiple times, the first time the vehicle was under warranty and the dealership “couldn’t replicate the issue” while the vehicle was with them for 2 days, which is impossible. Now, the vehicle is out of warranty and all of a sudden, since I am on the hook to pay them for the diagnostic service, they were able to “fix” the issue, for a day. I picked up my vehicle, everything seemed to work until the next morning, when the issue popped back up and now the camera itself seems to work, but there are no guidelines and there is an hourglass at the top left of my screen. I mentioned this issue of the guidelines being non existent as well as the hourglass, showed the dealership videos and they can’t seem to figure it out, seems as if there is a major issue after researching online this same issue for multiple years. After that amount of time how is there no resolution? This issue, along with my engine making weird noises, is not something that anyone should get when purchasing a vehicle that is $70k or more. After researching, I found there is an issue with my model year vehicle and the engine I have and that I also mentioned to them and that I was feeling as if there are issues with the engine and it being very jerky, along with the noises and that claim I made was simply dismissed and they said they are aware but there’s nothing they can do, and this is a “GM issue, not us” I basically have a lemon but there’s nothing that can be done and I am nervous something bad is going to happen with my vehicle and they mentioned the best they can do is to possibly put a heavier weight oil in and “hope it helps” absolutely ridiculous.

At 53,000 miles the Coolant Control Valve has failed 2 times. A very common problem many owners have had. 1st CCV replaced at 45,000, second lasted less than 10,000 miles. Truck is forced into “reduced acceleration”. Part is on back order with no estimated ship date. Some owners are reporting wait times of 3 months or more. No loaner provided, was told truck is “safe to drive”. With reduced acceleration the truck struggles to get up to speed and has hard time maintaining even 65mph. It’s compounded when towing, making it near impossible to maintain pace with highway traffic. My vehicle is basically rendered useless as I use it regularly for highway commute and also towing. The vehicle may be “safe” in that it won’t blow up, but it’s certainly not safe to drive when it can’t maintain even the speed limit. If a quick acceleration is needed to avoid something it’s not capable of doing that.

I have had several check engine lights come on and the codes are for emission related issues. I made an appointment with the local chevy dealership to get the emission system looked at. However, the day before I was to take it in, I was driving and the truck dropped into "Low power mode" leaving me driving on the highway with no acceleration at all. I finally limp to the dealership only to tell me the valve body is shot and this has been a problem in these vehicles. They then tell me the parts are backordered and there is no ETA to fix. I start researching on the internet and this is a huge known issue and there should be a recall. Now I am stuck in a 10-year-old loaner with 130k miles. They know this is an issue, they should have a recall and the parts available.

I was driving my truck with my two young children in the back seat. I was accelerating to merge onto the interstate, and at 8th gear (around 74 MPH) I felt and heard a BANG and lost all propulsion, as if the transmission went into neutral. I revved several times and had no power to the wheels. I had to quickly check traffic behind me and find a place to stop on the side of a busy interstate, with two young children in the truck. While decelerating, I had no engine power and the transmission shifted from D to N to P while I was still moving - although it felt like it was still in N. As the truck decelerated, the engine shut off while in motion (around 30-40mph) and I came to a stop. As I was coming to a stop, I noticed I had a solid CEL/MIL along with several other warnings. I was unable to crank the truck - crank but no start - and unable to shift from P. Had I not been able to find a safe place to stop (e.g., in heavy traffic on the interstate or in city traffic) I surely would have been involved in an accident. When trying to tow the truck to the dealer, I had no way to get the truck out of P to load onto the tow truck flat bed. Subsequent attempts (at the Chevy dealer) to remove the truck from the tow truck flat bed were unsuccessful, as the truck would not shift from P nor crank. This was a severe safety issue which I am not sure is powertrain, electrical, or emission related but it could have ended in a severe crash on the interstate with my children. There were no indications of any sort of malfunction or issue except for when I immediately heard and felt the bang and lost propulsion on the interstate. I drove the truck earlier in the week without issue and there were no MIL's immediately prior to the incident. The truck is at Jimmy Gray Chevrolet, Southaven, MS awaiting evaluation and diagnosis.

On May 3, 2025 my truck would not go into reverse leaving me stranded 250 miles from my home. There was no indication the transmission was having problems (no warning lights and the truck was driving as designed). Then boom -- nothing. I was left stranded on a Saturday evening in a rough part of Detroit putting my safety at risk due to this sudden malfunction. The truck was taken to a GM dealer and had the transmission valve body replaced. Upon the repair, I drove the 250 miles back home. During this trip the torque convertor failed - again leaving the vehicle non operatable. The vehicle went back to the dealer and the torque convertor was replaced. About 1 week later the transmission valve body (that was originally replaced) failed again leaving the vehicle non operatable and me stranded again. I am now being told that transmission valve bodies are on national back order with no eta leaving me without transportation. Leaving a customer stranded multiple times despite replacing several major transmission components created a substantial safety risk to me and my family.

The issue is two fold, first the seal on the rear spoiler is defective and causing water to leak into the cab. Second, the seal around the rear power sliding window is defective and is also leaking into the cab. Transmission valve body failed. I was driving to the store on 5/17/25 with my son (6) and the RPMs jumped while driving. We were less than a mile from the store and continued as it seemed to not be an issue after that. When we attempted to leave the store we had no reverse gear and the vehicle was in limp mode (limited acceleration). The vehicle has been at the dealership since 5/17/25 and they have confirmed that the valve body failed. The CEL came on when we started the vehicle at the store. This appears to be a prevalent issue for GM and the part to repair is backordered with no ETA available. The dealership advised it could be six months.

When accelerating, it started around 35 mph, I would be driving and it would feel like hitting a speed bump, even though there wasn't a speed bump. Over the past month, it has moved to about the 45 mph, and the rear wheels completely lock up for a second, cause the tires to "squeal" as if slamming on the brakes. It gives anyone in the vehicle a whiplash effect. Any loose items in the truck will go flying. It is a scary situation and I am worried it is going to cause damage to myself or my passengers or cause an accident. The term given to me by the dealer is "Momentary Rear Wheel Lock-Up". They were very familiar with the issue, but since my VIN wasn't on the recall, they wouldn't do anything. This has happened numerous times, starting back in early March. The issue has escaladed and gotten worse. The latest date is noted below.

There is already a recall on the Chevy Silverado but only for the 10speed engine not the V8s in regards to the transmission. There have been a select few V8s that just now started getting recalled. Our truck is doing exactly what these recalls are reporting- hard shifting, knocking of engine, check engine light, trouble shifting into gear. All of which could cause a blown motor or issues while driving and decides to breaks down on the highway or regular roads which if that happens could result in accidents. GM knows there are issues but refuses to acknowledge that all the trucks in the 2022 year regardless of the engine type need to be recalled.

The engine started to shake violently while traveling down the interstate, my speeds reduced against my will. My safety and the safety of others was jeopardized while I'm traveling down an interstate with a minimum speed of 70 mph and my truck speed reduced to 35 mph or less. After an inspection from the dealership, I assumed the responsibility of having the engine rebuilt that cost me thousands of dollars. As the vehicle started to reduce speed is when the onstar alert went off. After having my vehicle for 10 ten days I receive it in worst condition that I gave it to them. Approximately 2 weeks later, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership which they diagnosed it as needing the throttle body replaced. I allowed the dealership to fix that issue. Upon them returning the vehicle to me, I now have an electrical issue. The dealership stated that they may have crossed wires. The windows would roll down once I locked the vehicle, the door would constantly unlocked while I'm driving and the radio would shut down and restart while driving. The dealership was unable to find the problem so they decided to turn off everything so these I would not have these issues. Now I can smell something burning from time to time while I'm driving.

Coolant control valve malfunction on my truck with 43300 miles that causes my truck to go into limp mode. Took to dealership and was told I had to pay for an update to the ECM computer that is tied to the warning light. I was told that there are lots of recalls for this part but that I have to pay for a software update as a first line step to see if this will fix the issue. This is a known part failure that needs to be recalled and resolved and owners shouldn’t have to pay for software updates to fix there faulty parts.

I live in Eagar Arizona, we are currently under evacuation orders due to the Greer fire. My 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is not usable to leave the area. Because of the well known and seemingly unaddressed issue of a "coolant control valve" my truck has less than 29000 miles and is, in my opinion unsafe to use to escape a forest fire. I am sure there are other safety concerns applicable to the KNOWN design flaw. More importantly Chevrolet seems disinterested in resolving this nationwide problem with any type of expediency.

- Failed Engine Coolant Control Valve, it was made available for inspection at a Chevy and GMC dealership - Failure of this part puts my family and other drivers at risk especially when towing our camper in the mountains of Colorado. The engine goes into "low power mode" which creates the possibility of overheating while driving and the coolant circulation to operate not as intended in the design of the vehicle. - Yes, the dealership was able to reproduce the condition and is sitting at the dealership now for 44 days as it is been considered "not drivable". - Yes, the dealership has been inspected by Emich Chevrolet in Lakewood, CO. - The check engine light did come on and produced GM code P1098. The engine goes into low power mode where the fans are on high and tells you to be careful when driving the vehicle. It first appeared in March 2024, the vehicle only has ~22,000 miles on it, bought new from the dealer.

I was coming out of my workplace, made a right turn on to a Main Street, the lights were red so I was waiting to proceed and my truck engine just shut off. As the light turned green, I attempted to start the truck by turning the key off to restart the truck again, I tried twice to restart the truck, but it wouldn’t turn over, I couldn’t put my hazard lamps on because I lost all power. I was afraid because two 18 wheeler trucks were coming behind me . This area is heavily used by the trucking industry delivering goods to companies in the area. I was terrified that I was going to be hit from behind, I gave the ignition another try and the truck started, but it was sluggish in pulling off. I called the dealership that day and my new truck was at the dealership for almost a week. The following day of my drop off, the dealership said they recieved a recall on my truck. I have the repair ticket from the dealership. I no longer have faith in the truck that I paid so much money for, not the company that built it.

2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is unable recognize that it has been placed in park consistently, essentially trapping us in the vehicle until the "Shift to Park" error gets corrected. After shifting the vehicle into park and pressing the button to turn off the vehicle, an error comes up on the dash saying "Shift to Park". In order to clear this error and have the vehicle recognize that it is safely parked, we must turn the vehicle back on, put the vehicle in reverse or drive, and depress the gas pedal to move the vehicle slightly, shift the vehicle to park again, wait at least 30 seconds to a minute, and then finally press the button to turn off the vehicle. And we must repeat this anywhere from 3 to 15 times until the brakes safely engage to park the vehicle. I worry that the vehicle wont safely go into park and will roll away on its own. This is the same error that was reported for other GM models recently and is affecting the safety, reliability, usability, and longevity of this vehicle.

This is causing the fan to run at 100% at all times. I am also getting a message on the dash stating that the vehicle is in reduced acceleration mode. No warning lights ever came on dash. I ended up getting stuck in intersection for 4 light cycles. Throttle to floor entire time jerking forward 6” at a time. I was driving the truck and it just stopped moving like the vehicle was in neutral. My safety really wasnt put at risk, other then I couldn't move out of the way of other traffic The truck is at simmons and rockwell dealership waiting to be fixed due to the part being on backorder. My check engine light was on but when the garage I usually take my vehicles to put it on a machine to tell them what was wrong with it. It came up with a different issue then the light went out. I just got it back from the garage that same day the control valve went. The garage put it back on the machine and then it said transmission issues. I then had it towed to the dealership. Where the truck is now waiting to be fixed. Thankfully this is covered under my powertrain warranty. I just wanted to report this because I seen alot of the same year different motor chevrolet trucks were recalled for this same part. I just bought this truck less then 3 months ago I am thankful for the warranty. If this is a common issue hopefully me reporting mine saves someone in the future. Thank you

Also there is no dip stick to check transmission fluid. And apparently even ase certified mechanics can’t check the fluid levels

Vehicle: 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss, 6.2L V8 L87 engine Date of Incident: Friday, April 19, 2025 Mileage at Time of Failure: ~30,000 miles Location: Route 1 (high-traffic highway) While driving at highway speed, the vehicle suddenly shut down without warning. The RPMs dropped to zero, and I had to quickly merge across lanes with no engine power, creating a serious safety risk to myself and other drivers. There were no warning lights, sounds, or prior symptoms before the failure. I had the truck towed at my own expense to a trusted mechanic, who confirmed that the engine had seized. It has since been transferred to a certified GM dealership for teardown and repair. This failure appears consistent with ongoing reports and an active NHTSA investigation into the 6.2L V8 L87 engine, specifically related to oil pump failure and oversized lifter bores, which can cause catastrophic engine failure without warning. I am concerned about the future reliability of this vehicle, especially since powertrain warranty coverage is limited. Had I known about these known engine issues, I would not have purchased this vehicle. I will be notifying my bank, which holds the lien, as this situation also impacts the value and security of their asset. I intend to request part numbers and full documentation from the dealership to ensure the engine is not replaced with the same potentially defective components.

At ~51,000 miles, my 2022 Silverado Trail Boss 6.2L L87 experienced a sudden engine failure while on / exiting the highway. The engine began shaking violently, the check engine light flashed, and it lost all power without warning. It was towed and remained out of service for 28 days. The dealer diagnosed lifter delamination, a scored camshaft, and scored cam, main, and rod bearings. Metal shavings were found in the engine, indicating internal contamination. Despite the severity, the manufacturer approved only an engine overhaul, not a full replacement. The service manager stated, “it’s nearly impossible to get these motors,” pointing to a national shortage due to widespread failures of the 6.2L engine platform. After picking up the vehicle, I immediately noticed a rattling noise from underneath. I returned to the dealer (who also failed to recharge the AC system). They traced the noise to the catalytic converter and muffler and quoted $2,709.24 to replace the full exhaust system. The manufacturer refused to cover the repair, even though the issue appeared immediately after the engine failure. The dealer did not confirm the exact cause, but possible contributing factors include combustion instability, engine misfires, unburned fuel, and extreme vibration during the failure. These conditions can severely impact the exhaust system and emissions components. I was quoted nearly $4,000 for an extended warranty, which I now feel pressured to buy due to loss of confidence in the engine. Metal debris may have affected the oiling system, injectors, or other critical parts. This raises serious safety concerns: sudden power loss at highway speed, compromised emissions components, and the risk of future failures. With the 6.2L under NHTSA investigation, I believe this incident supports further review or recall.

The first incident the truck had 11,000 miles on it. Engine had to be replaced and took almost 3 months. The truck completely cut off driving down the interstate. It just happened again truck has 86,000 miles on it and it happened again. Truck lost all power and completely shut off going down the road at night, on the side of a high rise bridge. Now they have no idea when it can be replaced because it’s a nationwide problem with the 6.2 liter engine. Both times my family has been in this truck and it completely loses power. GM needs to be held responsible and fix this issue. I’m on motor number 2 truck has 80,000 miles on it. Truck was repaired the first time at Walt Massey GMC Chevrolet in Lucedale, MS. The truck is sitting at the same dealership right now

The blind spot warning has been a non stop issue with my truck. It frequently stops working and when it stops working the only indication is a short maybe 3 second message in the driver information center that goes away without the driver having to acknowledge it so it very easy to miss. Sometimes you see this when starting up the truck other times it might be working and then just stop working as you are driving down the highway.

The vehicle shut down while driving and would not restart. While driving it I got an odd error message then it went into neutral on it's own then as soon as I stopped to park it shifted itself to park and would not move. Thankfully I was in a parking lot and safe, otherwise it could have been catastrophic on a highway. AAA came and replaced the battery, which did not help. They tried to shift it into neutral so that it could be put on the flatbed but it would not shift. They finally were able to tow it on a dolly using a regular tow truck. Dealership inspected it and found metal in the oil indicating the need for a new motor. It is under warranty but it's going on 2 weeks and we still don't have an ETA on an engine. It's a 2022 Chevy Silverado, 6.2L with 36,000 miles. I cannot get a return call from the dealership GM.

While returning home from my son's graduation. I came to a stop at a stoplight. Before I could come to a complete stop my check engine lights came on and beeped indicating I had low oil pressure. I looked at my guage and it was sitting at 0 psi. I gave the truck some gas to try to bring the oil pressure up and it seemed to work. But the damage was already done. It had a steady knock. I pulled over to check my oil level. It was full. I was able to make it home and to the dealership. I told them what had happened and they replaced the engine. This was at around 20,000 miles. 1 year later, 8,000 miles later. Driving home from work I noticed a tick sitting at a stop light. Drove it home and parked it, knowing my past expirience I didn't want to risk being stalled on a busy highway. Dealership just told me I need another engine. First 10,000 miles, my transmission went bad. 20,000 the motor went bad. 28,000 another motor. Instead of fixing the problem they just replace parts.

When putting my vehicle in park and turning vehicle off keys won’t come out and stay stuck. Problem continues to only get worse and I have to wait to remove key. Battery sometimes dies as I am very busy and don’t have time to sit there and play or wait for key to come out 10+minutes. In the heat vehicle is off as I am trying to remove key and I have a baby in the car seat in the heat. This is extremely frustrating and dealership won’t do anything about it. Tailgate got water in it. Continues to open repeatedly, user cannot stop it. Same part is recalled on 2500 HD and 3500 HD models. However, Silverado 1500 models (with the same tailgate switch part) are not currently covered by recall. This results in dead battery, open tailgate on the road - and contents of bed spilling onto highway. Vehicle further stalls due to electrical draw, causing total loss of usage, including brakes, steering, etc. I have video of the tailgate triggering and opening on its own.

We have had several issues with our vehicle from early ownership, such as, (1) signal light goes from very fast blinking to working. We have taken it to the dealership and are told they cannot duplicate the issue. It seems to correct itself when you turn off the truck and turn it back on. (2) the digital screen about the steering wheel where all all your gauges are have gone completely black. I took it to the dealership and was told that they had to keep the truck until they could duplicate the issue, but again, turning off and then turning it back on seemed to help. Sometimes it works on the first restart, and others it takes a few times and longer times between restarts. (3) OnStar has stopped communicating with my vehicle about a year, year and half in. (4) Google maps has never worked. (5) Remote starts works sometimes. (6) Auto-shut off works sometimes. (7) Air Conditioner started having issues last summer. We have to turn off and on the vehicle or rev up the engine so that it will kick in. This works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. (7) ESC and traction control lights came on, the truck starts shaking, and brakes locked. Truck had to be towed to nearest dealership. The truck only had 12K miles when this happened. (8) Around the same mileage, an injector had to be replaced. (9) Now at 52K miles, we have the ESC, traction control, and check engine light again. Truck is shaking, feels like the gears are slipping when you press on gas, and has white smoke coming from the mufflers. These issues have been report to both local dealership and GM corporate office. these issues have left us stranded 300 miles from home and has left us without air conditioner in 3-digit weather when we had our grandbaby with us.

Was on a trip 6hrs from home when the truck began to have a pecking noise. The truck suddenly lost power. There wasn’t a shoulder to pull onto so there I sat in the middle of the road waiting on a toll truck. Had the vehicle towed to a dealership where they informed me the engine was locked up. Had to get a rental to get home.

I have a 22 5.3L V8 trail boss 86k miles was running great prior.Truck gears started slipping and was able to get it home. Started the next day and check engine light came on and no reverse. Was able to get it to the dealership with the reduced engine power warning. I dropped it off Friday 2/21 and was immediately diagnosed with the bad valve body issue/code. Service was very vague with me at first and gave me 2 options Valve body replacement with an estimate of $3100.00 or a full transmission of $8,000.00. No mention if this was common when asked. Makes sense as to why they did not drop the pan when I asked if they checked the fluid. If this is a common issue I feel as they were trying to lure me into a new transmission for the extra money. That doesnt give me a great feeling with the dealership or chevy in general. I went with the valve body replacement and he said he would order the parts. I called this past week just for an update and asked about parts and then they alluded that they were on backorder from GM not another dealership and he thought he mentioned that. There is no way to track the parts? No loaners available I rely on my truck a lot for work and transporting my family of 4 around. Not very optimistic after reading thats this is a major problem. Has anyone else experienced the brevity when asking for answers? Has anyone else had to pay for this out of pocket? Im expecting the worst and hoping for the best but not really sure where to go from here other than wait.

When driving this vehicle on 1/9/25, I was on my way home with my wife from hospital. She was post c section and in very fragile state. The truck was in turning lane when it started making a strange noise and immediately shut off out of no where. There were no lights or warnings on dash. It was extremely cold and we had no heat. We called several tow truck companies to see who could immediately tow our truck to dealer as we were in a very bad location, freezing cold and almost were rear ended several times due to being in this turning lane. Tow truck arrived, had to completely stop traffic for us to enter into another vehicle to make it home. Mind you my wife could barely walk due to her operation. This was a very horrible experience. We bought this specific truck as a family vehicle because we thought it was reliable and safe. The truck was towed to dealer where it had been serviced since purchased and was confirmed that the engine would need to be replaced. We looked online and seen that many people had same issue but no official recall has been put out. We called the GMC recall center and they have been attempting to get us a replacement vehicle as we have a newborn and other children and now have no family vehicle to drive. The recall center has told us there has been an engine ordered but they do not have a date when it will arrive. We are almost two months into this situation with no answers or resolutions still having to make a payment on a vehicle we cannot even drive, nor are we able to purchase a new one because of this.

Took it in for repair, dealer tells me "No ETA on a replacement part, we will keep in touch" After further investigation, I went on the OnStar and Chevy message boards, and I've discovered that this issue has been going on for over 6 months in some cases and there are ALOT, i mean ALOT of people having the same problem. This problem causes all of the remote options to stop working among other things as well. In most cases people have paid a subscription up front for a year.

I received an email from OnStar Notifications on February 22, 2025 at 3:54 am stating my truck had 5% oil life remaining. I have had my oil changed at every required time with the required type of engine oil. I had my oil changed on February 22, 2025 at 3:33 pm. The oil change technician stated that no oil showed on the dip stick. Anytime I have my oil changed, I always check the dipstick to make sure the oil is registering where it should be on the dipstick. It has always been correct. No low oil light warning has ever came on. I looked up to see if these engines were having any issues and found that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has an open investigation on their website posted on January 17, 2025 regarding the 2019 – 2024 model years GM 6.2L V8 engine failures based on complaints of bearing failure – resulting in either engine seizure or breaching of the engine block by the connecting rod. The complaints also stated that there is no detectability prior to the failure. I purchased this vehicle brand new in 2022. I am very frustrated because now I have to worry about my vehicle seizing up while driving and possibly causing an accident and even worse someone getting hurt due to this vehicle issue. I would like to know what is going to be done to correct this issue.

While driving at 65 MPH, on the highway, , the truck , suddenly, without warning, shifted into neutral gear,, we were able to coast / navigate to the side of the road, turn off the engine and restart. It worked fine for about a week then a second incident occurred - same situation but car engine could not be turned off, could not put into park , or drive.. car stalled. Eventually, we were able to get the car started, but we took it to the nearest Chevrolet dealer, as we were afraid to drive very far with this situation. This ia a huge safety concern, there are no warning lights, messages , prior symptoms or anything .. passengers and other drivers are at risk for an accident to occur. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer at Classic Chevrolet. They have indicated the engine must be replaced. This car is new and only had 26,000 miles. It is on warranty. The Engine is on backorder with no ETA. We have been without our truck for 7 going on 8 weeks now. We keep contacting the dealer but still no outlook for an engine. We have called GM manufacturing but get no where with customer service or customer reps. They promise call back but then it turns into constant phone tag with a TAT of 24-48 hours if we miss their phone call. The car was purchased new [XXX]. My GM 6.2L L87 Engine failed at 65,000 miles. Left me stranded at an intersection blocking traffic. Traffic safety and state police had to come direct traffic while I was waiting for a tow. Two seperate dealers quoted me over $15,000 to replace the engine with 1/2 the cost covered by GM. This was too expensive for me, so I ended up trading the vehicle in and taking the negative equity hit on a new vehicle loan. I seen there was an investigation opening on GM 6.2L L87 engine failures and I wanted to share my experience. This also happened to more people I know, including my own father with his 2022 Cadillac Escalade

I started to hear a light tick/knocking sound during my daily 68 mile commute to work, 3/1/2024. When I would accelerate, the ticking would get louder. I noticed a bit of shaking at the same time of acceleration. I took it into the dealership on 3/2/2024 where they discovered metal shavings in my oil filter. They told me I needed an entire new engine at 51,000 miles. They replaced the engine under my existing power train warranty (which was valid until vehicle got to 60,000miles). I got my truck back on 4/19/2024, and was told I would NOT be given any additional warranty or guarantee for the engine and labor associated with the replacement. I asked if there was any additional warranty that would be given, and they said no. I have a high mile commute, and in this instance, my Power Train warranty was up just a few months after the replacement. My service advisor said if I had paid out of pocket, they would offer a 100,000 mile warranty. But since it was a warranty replacement, that I would only have the balance of whatever remained on my powertrain warranty. My concern is that this may happen again. I want to report my issue to be sure that every replacement is fully investigated and GM is held accountable. This is the first new vehicle I've purchased, the 5th vehicle I have owned in my lifetime and I have never needed a new engine. This is a fully loaded top of the line truck. It has every added feature.

noticed my engine sounded different, its a 2022 and i owned it for 1.5 years, i was taking it to the dealer for a oil change anyways, when i was there i asked them to through ears on it, they called me a hour later trying to explain it was due to the cold air (15-20 degrees) and the 6.2l uses 93 gas. i asked them why it didnt sound like that last winter and then the senior take wanted to keep it for a few days to go over it more, 5 days later i stop in there because im not getting a answer to be told i need a new motor because my bearing are shot at only 16k miles. the chevy dealer also gave me the option to trade it in to try to "help" but then wanted to offer me 10K less then what i paid for it. i told them to just do the repair, however im told the wait in best case scenario is 6 months but can take as long as 12 months..... im pretty disgruntled about this entire situation. my trucks a 2022 silverado LT trail boss, and they supplied not even a equal truck. i was given a 2024 silverado custom which has alot less features. meanwhile im stuck paying my auto loan for my truck that i cant drive, so its sitting in the back of a chevy dealers parking lot losing value.

On 12.27.24, the vehicle lost motive power while traveling through a busy and dangerous intersection and coasted to a stop. It was towed to a GM Dealership where it was determined that the engine had seized as it wouldn't crank. The serpentine belt was also noted to be atypically damaged as if it wasn't riding evenly / correctly on the pulleys. The vehicle may be available for inspection but as of this date, repairs have been authorized... so availability may change. The dealer will likely retain the failed engine. The sudden loss of motive power is always potentially dangerous. In my situation, I could have been unable to move out of a busy intersection and been subject to cross-traffic collision. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer but has not been further inspected by anyone other than the dealer. No warning indicators occurred that led me to believe their was an impending issue with the powertrain / engine.

My engine siezed up and I had to pull my vehicle off of the two lane road I was traveling. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. Approximately a month after the vehicle engine seized because I did not have the funds to cover the repairs at the time of engine failure. Once the vehicle engine was diagnosed at the dealership I was advised that the repairs were under warranty. The repairs took appoximately one month due to waiting on new engine to be provided by the manufacture. My vehicle was returned repaired on 10/31/2024 with the same type of engine. I was advised that engine warranty would not be extended on the new engine. That this engine was only warranted under the old engine mileage and age.

I was driving down the highway at 60 MPH and a display warning came on the display monitor. It said shift into neutral and restart engine. Then the engine died and I had to try and get off the highway. There was a complete lose of power so getting off the highway was difficult without any power including steering. The engine would not restart and when to tow truck came about 2 hours later it still would not start or shift into neutral to be loaded. Eventually the tow driver got it to shift into neutral so he could loaded the truck. My safety was at risk because it was difficult to get off the road and had there been more traffic it could of resulted in a collision. I was in a dead area for phone service and I had to sit there for about 2 hours waiting for someone to stop and help me get to an area with cell service. The pickup was dropped off at the nearest GM dealership and they looked at it and the engine had a catastrophic failure. It requires a new engine, but since it is under warranty it may take up to 1 years for a replacement.

While attempting to merge onto the freeway from the "on ramp," the acceleration began to dissipate. I noticed the truck had shifted itself into neutral. I then had to put my emergency lights on and coast as long as I could. There was not a check engine light. The vehicle also would not restart. It was then towed to a Chevrolet dealership and the recommendation was to replace the engine. They had notified me that this was a common issue with this engine and they see this all the time. There were four trucks ahead of me at this dealership alone. The story was the same and neighboring dealerships. At the time, they were not able to estimate the time for repair to be complete. This was a safety risk since there were cars behind me and the vehicle lost power. This could have resulted in an accident and caused injury to myself or others. There is also risk being stranded on the shoulder of a major freeway awaiting a tow truck.

While driving under normal conditions the 6.2 liter engine in my truck locked down. I was traveling at 70mph in Interstate traffic at night and the vehicle shifted into neutral on its own and had no power. The truck then prompted me to press the start button. Unbeknownst to me at this point the engine had seized up with no warning so I pushed the button which promptly killed all my electronics, lights, etc. Thankfully I was able to "bully" my way towards the shoulder in traffic and roll off the road before I completely lost momentum. The truck would not restart on the shoulder. Towed it to my own shop where we determined the engine had seized. The truck has since been taken to the dealership for warranty work. The truck has 40,000 miles on it at the time of failure with no prior signs of issues. I have been a driver for 24 years, driving class V trucks daily for most of that. I don't know if the average driver would have avoided the potential collisions trying to get off the road with no power that I frankly feel I was lucky to do.

Engine has been inspected by dealership. There was no warning lights, the engine was stuck around 4000 rpm. =I gave it gas to release tension on transmission and engine locked up. Engine has no other codes or warnings since owning it.

I was driving down the highway at 65mph when the truck shifted into Neutral. Could not shift back into drive. Pulled over 3 lanes to shoulder and stopped, shifted to Park, turned off engine. Restarted and shifted into Drive. While driving to dealer truck seized up and stopped at a red light. Could not start or shift into neutral. Left stranded in traffic hoping not to get rear ended by 65mph traffic. No warning signs, dash light notifications or check engine lights were on.

At 28000 km my 2022 Chevrolet trailboss 1500 with the 6.2 started to burn oil. It was averaging 1 litre every 2000km. The dealership told me this was perfectly acceptable for consumption on this engine. From 28000 km to 45967km I had it in multiple times due to low engine oil warnings and loss of power. At 45967km I took it to another Chevrolet dealership and they inspected my truck and determined that it was caused by piston and rings. This was done under warranty. I got the call stating my truck will be ready they are just doing a test drive to confirm the issue is fixed. When I got to the dealership they informed me it was ticking and they had to investigate further. During the test drive it collapsed a lifter. After they took my engine apart for a second time this was fixed I got my truck back. Over the course of the next month sitting my truck gave me headaches and made me sick. I found out that exhaust was leaking into my cab through my vents due to a 4 head gas monitoring device. I notified the dealership and made an appt. At 47434km my truck collapsed another lifter while I was on the highway with my wife and children in the vehicle and it started to violently shake with vibrations while trying to maintain or accelerate, all the warning lights in my dash went off and I lost all safety systems. I booked it back into the dealership to have it repaired and asked to have the engine replaced as I have had nothing but problems with it and was not happy with this truck or its reliability. I reached out to Chevrolet Canada at this point and asked to have my engine replaced or my truck replaced because this truck has had nothing but problems (many more outside of the engine) and they apologized and said the best they could do was offer me a hat. I have all service records and all service has been complete at Chevrolet dealerships. Truck has no current engine problems but still has many other problems.

My 2022 Chevrolet 1500 Trail boss (L87 V8) with 65,135 was making a clicking noise. I proceeded to make a service appointment with my local Chevrolet dealership on 05/03/2024. As I showed up for my scheduled appointment, I was turned away by the dealership due to lack of staff. I was told by my service advisor that my truck should be fine to drive for a few days till my rescheduled appointment on [XXX]. On my way to the dealership for the newly rescheduled appointment, my truck engine shut off unexpectedly and without any visual indication of engine problems. I had to call a tow company to take my truck to the dealership. Per the dealership's review, I was told over the phone that my engine had "locked up" and I would have to replace the entire engine. I was a couple thousand miles outside of warranty... the dealership told me there was nothing they could do to assist me with the cost of the new engine. This morning on social media, I saw that NHTSA is doing an investigation of the horrible experience I went through. The car decided to stop working all of a sudden without warnings or check engine lights, the sound was very loud and jolty, thankfully I was near my house and I was able to park the car. It sounded like there was a hiccup in between its jolt, and the car will shake aggressively until i turned it off. I had the truck towed to my dealer, it took two weeks for them to get back to me and tell me that my engine had metal shreds inside and I needed a new engine. It’s been almost 2 months and I’m still waiting for the tracking number of the new engine. The GM customer support has been very cooperative in regards to this issue. But the time and risk this kind of damage imposes in the vehicle makes me think twice about the safety of the truck. I certainly wouldn’t want this type of failure to happen at 65mph in a highway.

When I first purchased my new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST(6.2L Engine), i noticed a knocking noise under acceleration around 3-5000 miles. I took the truck into Tom Naquin Chevrolet for my first oil change around the 5k mile mark and notified them of the noise. And over the course of the next couple years, i mentioned the knocking noise every time I took it to Naquins, every 5k miles. Chevrolet deemed the noise as normal and told the dealership to perform no further inspections on the motor. The last two oil changes, I notified the dealership that the noise was getting worse and more noticeable when slightly accelerating. They heard the noise and reached out to chevrolet again and the same thing, they deemed it as normal and advised the dealership to not further investigate. Fast forward to November 30th, 2024, I had my family in the truck and we were driving back from getting a Christmas tree. When we left the tree farm, i noticed the knocking noise was significant and I had no power when accelerating. I dropped my wife and kids off and took my truck straight to the dealership. The second i pulled in, the truck shut off and the motor seized up. It has been at the dealership since that day and the replacement engine is still on backorder with no ETA provided.

Driving on busy state highway at 55MPH the engine began loosing power and making loud squealing and metallic knocking noises. Fortunately there was a gas station 1/4 mile away and I was able to coast with the engine running and safely exit traffic. This engine is a newly remanufactured unit with only 7000 miles on it replaced under warranty. The previous engine completely seized in a similar traffic situation. It has now been towed to a dealer and diagnosed as crankshaft or bearing failure. There was no warnings or indications of impending engine failure. A less experienced driver may have continued on driving unaware the engine is about to seize completely leaving the vehicle without power steering and brakes which may result in loss of control and panic.

Driving in traffic on two lane, busy state highway at 55MPH the engine stalled without warning. I started pulling over to the shoulder of the road while trying to process what happened. To restart the engine required me to place the automatic transmission in neutral and press the keyless stop/start button. Someone driving the vehicle besides myself may panic and place the gear selector in the wrong position thereby causing an accident at highway speeds. Had this happened in a busy intersection it may caused a collision. Luckily the engine restarted and was able to proceed without incident.

Our check engine light came on 12/17/24 for a oil pressure sensor issue. We promptly brought the truck to the shop where they changed out the sensor, completed an oil change and manually checked the oil pressure. They advised us that the truck was good to drive and there was no indications of any further issues on 12/20/24. 3 hours into our drive on 12/21/24 our engine sized going 80MPH with no warning at 64,000 miles. We got the truck towed to the closest GM dealer where they let us know that the engine had seized. We still have yet to get a clear answer as to what caused the engine to seize other than that it is a "known issue". There were mentions of the lifters as well as storage issues by GM (i.e. their engines were stored in sheds where they may have gotten wet prior to install). GM offered a good will warranty at 60% coverage. They have ordered that engine but no timeline has been given (other than "months" followed by a laugh) because they are on a nationwide backorder. They also have yet to give us any documentation of what occurred and what is being offered by GM even though it has been requested 5 different times. Seems that if you're having a big enough problem to be on a backorder on the engine that this should be pushed to recall and we should be receiving 100% coverage.

Two separate but related incidents: 1. Sudden complete loss of power on a busy highway interchange. I had to pull over in an unsafe merge point. The truck would not start and had to be towed to a dealership. The tow driver was eventually able to start the truck and load it on a flatbed. The dealership had the vehicle for 3-4 days and replaced the starter and a fuse. 2. Second incident happened approximately 24 hours after getting truck back from the first incident. Sudden loss of power coming up a large hill. Truck completely died and would not start again. Tow truck driver could not get the truck started and therefore could not get the truck in neutral. Tow truck driver had to drag the truck on to a flatbed and tow to a dealership. Dealership reported metal in the oil filter and requires complete engine replacement. GM has issue with Part restriction on the bottom end of the motor and rocker bearings going bad. No recalls on this just TSB. With that being said the motor blew a rod through the block because of the part restriction on the bottom end of the motor. GM wont fix it because it just a TSB. GM states that this is an issue the customer needs to fix and to look out for these issues. Even though the bottom end of the restriction is a catastrophic failure when there motor fails.
