2025 CHEVROLET BLAZER Complaints and Recall Information

The 2025 CHEVROLET BLAZER has 6 complaints and 1 recall filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with engine failure, defective windshields causing visibility problems, tire blowouts linked to control arm bushing defects, dashboard glare, and software malfunctions affecting the garage door remote feature.

Common Issues

  • Engine failure. The engine stopped functioning on the interstate highway shortly after 2024 miles, requiring a new engine installation. After replacement, the emission system failed.
  • Defective windshield. Drivers report the windshield has major cracks that create distracting glare during sunrise and sunset. Replacement windshields show similar problems.
  • Tire blowout. The front passenger tire blew while driving at low speed. The vehicle sustained damage when a control arm bushing tore out, presenting a safety hazard.
  • Dashboard glare. The reflection from the dashboard makes it nearly impossible to see through the windshield at certain times of day, affecting driver visibility.
  • Backup camera software. Access to the built-in garage door remote through the touchscreen is blocked when the car is in reverse. There is a delay after shifting from reverse to drive before the camera turns off, preventing door operation and causing potential safety risks.

The vehicle has one recall affecting the door latch system. The defect involves door strikers that were improperly heat-treated. This poses a risk of the door opening unexpectedly while driving.

Recalls

  • Door strikers. NHTSA Recall 24V737000 affects 731 vehicles by GM dated 20241002. The door strikers may break due to improper heat treatment, which can cause doors to open unexpectedly and increase injury risk. Dealers will replace all four side door strikers and attachment bolts at no charge. All affected vehicles remain in dealership inventory, so owner notification letters are not expected.

Owners facing repeated engine issues, defective safety components, or unresolved recalls on the 2025 CHEVROLET BLAZER may have rights under state lemon laws. Legal consultation can help determine potential remedies based on repair history and defect persistence.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

This is a report of defective software that could increase the chances of an accident, injury and or death. This vehicle features a built-in garage door remote which is utilized exclusively through the touch screen. However, when the vehicle is in reverse the backup cameras restrict access to the needed menu. After backing up and putting the car in drive there is a delay before the back up camera turns off. This creates a situation in which the driver must wait in the middle of the road after placing the car in drive before being able to close the garage door. In seeking solutions from online forums, some drivers have reported their Blazer EVs allow the button to be accessed while others report they do not, so I speculated perhaps I missed a software update, but per the car's OTA system, the vehicle's software is current as of the time of this submission. I have recorded a video that I am happy to share , however it exceeds the size limit allowed for uploads in this report.
