POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Cadillac XT6, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Blazer, Traverse, and 2022-2023 Cadillac XT5 vehicles. The transmission may have been built with an incorrect sun gear, which can result in the driver-side half-shaft disengaging from the transmission.
Risk: A half-shaft disengaging from the transmission can result in a loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Blazer and Traverse vehicles. The left-side half-shaft assemblies may be missing a retaining ring.
Risk: A missing retaining ring on the half-shaft can cause half-shaft inner joint separation, resulting in a loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

I am writing to inform the appropriate authorities of the issues that I’ve continually had with my 2023 Chevrolet Blazer. It has come to my attention that the aforementioned vehicle will need a new transmission and possible engine repair currently totaling at just over 6,000 dollars in repair costs. When I was provided with the total repair cost I was informed by the certified service representative that this was a common issue for the Blazer model and that GM was aware of the ongoing issue. I’ve reached out to GM with my concerns regarding this vehicle and the fact that this is an issue that has in prior dates prompted recalls for blazer models from the year 2020-2024. I have because of the transmission defects/ failures been stranded and unable to shift gears required for proper motion of the car. To which I am sure you can understand the public safety risk of an inoperative transmission. I have taken the car in for service concerning the transmission on 3 separate occasions within the last 10 days and was told by prior service technicians that “ No problems were visible” leading to the total breakdown of the transmission. I reached out to GM and told them of my wish to return the leased vehicle early due to my fears of now driving and operating the car and was told that I was not eligible for a buy back. GM is maintaining its stance of no liability and I am seeking outside help from this governing agency to ensure that repair costs are fully covered for this defective product.

Addition to Case #[XXX] Hi: Read the following response from Chevrolet Care at the end of this Email about my braking problem. Take Note That Chevrolet is Admitting that in a case like mine (wet, slippery snow conditions) I only have Basically Two Wheel Braking and those two wheels (tires) are sliding during the complete stop. This happens when driving in town (20 -25 mph) The rear wheels as Chevrolet says have a drag effect, (basically no braking) Chevrolet has created a crash Hazard with this over engineered braking system when used in wet slippery snow conditions. Thank You [XXX] See Enail from Chevrolet Cares Hello [XXX], Thank you for your patience and for providing this information. We received an update from your dealership, Bergstrom Chevrolet Of Manitowoc, who advised the following: The system is functioning as normal. Brake pad thickness was measured at 8mm on all 4 wheels. The ABS system doesn't activate on all 4 wheels unless there is a total loss of traction across all four wheels which would indicate a total loss of control. With two wheels activating and the rear wheels still spinning is allowing for the retention of control by allowing for braking to the rear wheels but at a lesser degree to create stability and drag (braking) to maintain control and steering capabilities during the loss of traction at the front end. The ABS system does allow for the adjustment of braking power to specific wheels in an effort to maintain proper traction and steering prior to the emergency systems engaging in the event of a slide. The dealership is our eyes and ears on the ground, and I will stand by their judgement. However, if you feel strongly against the dealership's judgement, it is to your discretion on what dealership you would like to work with. Please note, this does not guarantee a different resolution. Please let me know if you wish to visit another GM location for further assistance, we're here to help. Tea Chevrolet Customer Care INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION

This problem is with a 2023 R/S/ AWD Blazer: When there is wet slippery snow, and I apply the brakes normally the system immediately goes to rapid clicking of the ABS system activated on the front brakes and I hear no clicks from the rear wheels. From the time of the ABS being activated the front wheels go into a slide and the rear wheels only roll along with no braking action as I have opened my driver's door and watched the driver's rear wheel while activating the brakes. I have been to the dealer two times, and they find nothing wrong. I found on the internet one other person complaining with the same issues as me on a 2021 R/S AWD blazer. When this happens, it is a accident waiting to happen situation.

ID: 2069400FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On February 14, 2025, at approximately 0700 hours, I was traveling southbound on XXX, approaching a left turn (eastbound) onto XXX. I was the first vehicle in the turn lane with no other vehicles or pedestrians in front of me. The road conditions were clear, dry, and cold. Upon receiving a green light to proceed with my left turn, I began to accelerate without issue. However, approximately halfway through the turn, my vehicle's pedestrian collision avoidance system was unexpectedly triggered. The red windshield alert light began flashing, accompanied by an audible warning, followed by hard braking. My vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the turn, despite there being no vehicle, pedestrian, or any other object in my path. This sudden and unwarranted activation of the emergency braking system put me at great risk. Had a vehicle been traveling northbound on XXX, it would have collided with my vehicle. Similarly, if there had been a vehicle behind me, it could have caused a rear-end collision. The system’s phantom activation, with no clear reason, was extremely alarming and could have resulted in a serious accident. I have experienced sporadic false alerts in the past, including red windshield alerts with audible warnings, typically during heavy traffic in parallel lanes. However, this was the first time the system engaged the brakes. I immediately deactivated the feature after returning home. On February 25, 2025, I took my vehicle to XXX, for inspection. During my visit, the service department could not identify any issues with the system. They kept the vehicle for further diagnostics and performed a road test on February 26, 2025. However, no issue was found, and the emergency braking did not activate during the test. I was informed that there was nothing more they could do.
