Recalls- Wheelchair lift platform side plate. NHTSA recall 14V742000 affects 1229 vehicles with Ricon model wheelchair lifts whose platform side plates may crack. Cracking can cause the lift platform to separate and fall out, increasing injury risk. Repairs involve installing supplemental support bumpers or replacing cracked platforms.
- Seat belt webbing fraying. Recall 15V391000 covers 1818 vehicles where passenger seat belts rub against metal frames causing fraying. Frayed belts may fail in crashes. Dealers add plastic sleeves and replace frayed belts at no cost.
- Wheelchair lift folding link arms. Recall 15V757000 covers 1338 vehicles with pivot holes that may be too large, letting bearings move and causing platform failure. This can make the lift platform fall from the vehicle when doors open. Inspections and part replacements are performed free of charge.
- Triangle warning devices. Recall 14V821000 affects 773 vehicles using certain triangle warning signs that reflect insufficient light. Failure to properly warn others of a stopped vehicle may increase crash risk. Defective triangles are replaced for free.
- Bus driver seat welding defect. Recall 16V010000 involves 8 vehicles with driver seats having J-Brackets missing welds. This can allow the seatbelt anchorage to detach, compromising driver restraint in a crash. Dealers inspect and replace defective brackets free of charge.
- Wheelchair lift positioning cam. Recall 18V573000 covers 219 vehicles whose S-Series and K-Series Titanium lifts may have failing input cams allowing the platform to stop above the vehicle floor. This creates a tipping hazard for wheelchair users. The defective cam is replaced with an aluminum version.
Owners dealing with multiple recalls affecting wheelchair lifts, seat belts, or safety equipment who face repeated repairs or unresolved recall remedies may have rights under their state lemon law.

The affected seats have J-Brackets that may be missing welds which could allow the seat belt anchorage assembly to separate from the J-Bracket.
Risk: If the seatbelt anchorage assembly separates from the J-Bracket, the bus driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash increasing their risk of injury.

(Champion) is recalling certain model year 2006-2015 Challenger, Defender, Crusader, American, American Coach, American Crusader, Corporal, CTS-FE, CTS-RE, HC American, Platinum Shuttle, and Stacked Rail transit buses manufactured January 1, 2006, to August 25, 2015, equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts. The affected lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position.
