2023 CAN-AM RYKER Complaints and Recall Information
The 2023 CAN-AM RYKER has 3 complaints and 12 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report an issue with the right front wheel braking or accelerating on its own during sweeping left turns between 20 and 40 mph, causing the vehicle to jerk. The wheel may also wobble, requiring riders to adjust speed to maintain control.
Complaints focus primarily on the unusual braking behavior that compromises handling and safety. Several riders have reported similar experiences, but no permanent fix from the manufacturer has been confirmed.
Common Issues- Unintended wheel braking. The right front wheel brakes or accelerates without input during left turns at certain speeds, causing abrupt jerking.
- Wheel wobble. The right wheel may wobble during turns, forcing riders to accelerate or decelerate to maintain control.
- Control loss risk. Sudden deceleration and erratic wheel behavior create a danger of losing control or being rear-ended.
Twelve recalls affect multiple systems on the 2023 CAN-AM RYKER, addressing issues related to fuel delivery, lighting, and electrical wiring among others. The defects range from fuel pump failures to brake light malfunctions and potential engine stalls caused by wiring problems.
Recalls- Fuel pump failure. (NHTSA 23V855000) Affected 10,969 vehicles. The impeller in the high-pressure fuel pump may swell and fail, causing engine stalls and increasing crash risk. Dealers inspect and replace the pump as needed at no charge. Owner notifications were mailed February 27, 2024.
- Brake light malfunction. (NHTSA 23V175000) Affected 34,457 vehicles. Brake lights may remain illuminated without brake pedal input, failing to indicate braking intent and increasing crash risk. The fix involves replacing or adjusting the brake light switch and adding a spring if needed. Repairs are free. Owner letters were sent March 17, 2023.
- Electrical harness looseness. (NHTSA 22V799000) Affected 46,119 vehicles. Front fender wiring harnesses may loosen and rub on tires, causing short circuits that stall the engine and raise crash risk. Dealers secure the harnesses without charge. Owner notification letters were sent December 9, 2022.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs related to these issues or unresolved recall remedies may have rights under state lemon laws. Consulting a consumer protection attorney might assist in navigating potential claims involving safety defects and ongoing mechanical problems.

Complaints
2023 CAN-AM RYKER
ID: 2087782SUSPENSION
Common problem amongst Can Am Ryker riders. When making a sweeping left turn between 20-40 mph, the right front wheel will brake/accelerate on it's own and the bike will jerk. It also causes the right wheel to wobble forcing me to accelerate or decelerate to retain control of the bike. I quick google search produced hundreds of other riders experiencing the same issue and that BRP/Can Am does not have a permanent fix for this issue. I love riding my Ryker, but have avoided it for anything more than a couple mile ride to the store for fear of losing control or being rear ended when it decelerates on it's own. Please investigate.
