CHILD SEAT:TETHER: STRAP/WEBBING

The top tether on the car seat is showing red stitching which according to the user guide is a crash indicator. The problem is we have never used the top tether since my child is just now big enough to forward face. We have only used the bottom latch system in rear facing, the car seat was purchased brand new, and it has never been in any type of accident. I can submit pictures of the top tether that is messed up and the other that is fine. According to the user guide this car seat should not be used anymore due to the crash indicator, indicating this car seat is not safe or has ever been safe if the top tether has been messed up from the beginning. I attempted several different ways to get in touch with britax to discuss safety and verify if the car seat is still safe or not but have been met with no response. The car seat has not been inspected by anyone since it was not in an accident and the manufacturer has not replied via email, answered phone call, or social media chat.
