  • Driveshaft output shafts. Recall 21V046000 covers 28 vehicles. Heat treatment errors may cause output shafts to break, risking drive power loss or unintended vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is off. BMW will replace the defective shafts for free. The recall started March 24, 2021.
  • 48-Volt battery connection. Recall 20V761000 involves 812 vehicles. Improper assembly may increase electrical resistance between the battery and starter-generator, raising fire risk. Dealers will inspect and replace connections as needed without charge. Recall began April 12, 2021.
  • Child seat tether anchor. Recall 20V379000 applies to 16 vehicles. The top tether anchor on the rear middle seat might be hard to access, failing federal safety standards. Until fixed, owners must secure child seats in outer rear positions or use the middle seat with the three-point belt. Dealers will install a tether anchor cover at no cost.
