I am concerned about the excessive glare from LED vehicle headlights on newer model cars, trucks, and SUVs. These headlights are far brighter than traditional halogen lights and create a distracting starburst/radial glare pattern that makes it difficult to see the roadway clearly at night. The glare is so intense that it often blinds me temporarily, making it nearly impossible to see nearby pedestrians, especially those in dark clothing. I have good vision and do not require corrective lenses, so this is not a personal vision issue. The brightness and blue-white color of these headlights appear unsafe for the general driving public, as they reduce night visibility and increase the risk of collisions. This problem occurs regularly when driving at night and is becoming increasingly common as more vehicles are equipped with LED headlights. I believe the current headlight standards do not adequately protect drivers and pedestrians from glare hazards. I urge NHTSA to review and update regulations for LED headlights, including glare testing, brightness limits, and mandatory leveling or filtering requirements.

All newer vehicles are equipped with automatic door locking when the vehicle is in motion. The incident I’m referring to is a fatal accident. The VW SUV swerved a hit a tree. The car burst into flames, trapping the unconscious teenagers inside. Passersby could not get the doors opened fast enough. One teenage girl died. Three were horribly burned and one had moderate injuries. My question is, when the airbags are deployed, why don’t the doors automatically unlock? It seems to be something automakers should concern themselves with developing. Even seemingly minor accidents could benefit with auto unlock. Airbags=Doors unlock. Thank you for your time.

I was driving down i-75 this morning when one of those Auto cycles came speeding up in the passing Lane with all of their LED strip lights on. in the color pattern of these LED strip lights, there's a lot of red cycling through. I didn't get the license plate but this particular autocycle was trying to get off at an exit but was in the passing Lane. he sped up, cut me off and was slowing down at the same time. I was unable to tell that his brake lights were on because of all the red flashing lights. I thought red lights were restricted for everything except for brakes...

Bike rack fell off of car on northbound interstate 294 less than 1/2 mile from the 127th street exit. I believe I set it up correctly. Pin was in and the knob was tightened. No accidents as traffic narrowly avoided the unit and bikes. IDOT showed up quickly to remove. I believe the safety pin is inadequate to hold the unit on. Pictures attached.

Vehicles are being equipped with increasingly bright headlights by manufacturers who know how to skirt NHTSA brightness regulations. This creates an unsafe environment FOR ALL DRIVERS. The NHTSA should take IMMEDIATE ACTION to stop this issue from metastasizing. I drive a 2021 Jeep Renegade. The android screen that controls all the app AND the backup camera keeps going out. I see replacements on Amazon for around 150-200$ but of course I do not know how to install such things. All the dealers I contact want up to $2,000.00!!! to repair it AND want a $250.00 up front diagnostic fee. Simply robbery if you ask me. This feature on this vehicle is very important to the safety of the car. I have been on Jeep's Forum and see Many, many others are having the same issue. This should be a recall issue and Jeep should fit the bill.

When taking our camper to Hodges RV they brought to our attention that the slide out topper has come off and was broken off the side of camper. This is the topper going over the slider that comes out to protect the slide out. When looking at this it appears that the screws had come out and the topper is now all twisted and the other side only has two screws left in it. So the entire topper is ready to completely come off. The dealer at Hodges Rv center stated this is a manufacturer defect and should be taken care of by the dealer.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Series III 4x4 ~34,582 miles. Service dates: Aug 18–20, 2025. Work included a 4-wheel rotation on Aug 19. Vehicle is equipped with aftermarket Fuel Off Road D679 REBEL wheels that use spacers, sold with the pre-owned vehicle by a licensed dealer. What failed: After the rotation, the front-right wheel fasteners lost clamp load on drive from dealership. On inspection, four of six lug nuts were very loose/near removal and the wheel could be moved laterally by hand. Suspected contributors: (1) misalignment of polyurethane spacer during re-installation, leading technician to believe wheel fasteners were “torqued-to-spec,” and (2) interaction between spacer/wheel seating surfaces and the hub during movement. All components are available for inspection upon request. Video of the condition and photographs of the spacer are available; the dealer reports relevant in-shop CCTV exists. Safety risk: Loss of clamp load during vehicle operation created sufficient lateral wheel movement to be felt as wobble/thumping of steering wheel, with risk of wheel separation/loss of control. Reproduction/confirmation: The dealer confirmed the issue, and reported findings to customer. According to the Service Manager, the post-incident follow-up inspection (Aug 20) found the front-right spacer had shifted off-center during the tire rotation service, allowing the wheel to reach false-secure position and the fasteners to reach a proper torque without properly seating. This led to clamp-load loss as the spacer re-seated in subsequent vehicle operation, particularly as speeds increased. Inspections performed: The dealer inspected the vehicle on Aug 20 after towing back to the Jeep dealership. Customer has notified manufacturer of this incident and is awaiting response. Warnings/symptoms: No vehicle warnings. Around 1 mile into the drive from dealership, a slight wobble and then a repeating thump developed, that worsened by arrival at destination, prompting inspection.

I watched a YouTube video and in the video the the content provider was showcasing a product that is made by Creative Engineering (Safari Window kit) after watching the video I purchased the kit from the manufacturers web site. I installing the kit and noticed the windshield glass was very thin, less than half the thickness of the original glass. I contacted the manufacturer and they said it was safety glass and meets all the safety requirements, not taking their word for it I researched it and found that they has supplied me with DOT AS-2 rated safety glass which is not suitable for windshield. It turns out that AS-2 is OK for side and rear windows but the front windshield needs to have a DOT AS-1 rating. I am concerned that if someone is operating their vehicle on the freeway with a Creative Engineering (Safari Window kit) installed and a small rock is kicked up and chips the windshield, the safety glass will shatter and be blown back into the operators face, because the glass is not laminated as required for a DOT AS-1 classification for front windshields. please help me remove this product from sale and notify all who purchased this potentially dangerous item.

As we drove on I70, our bike rack's locking system to keep the rack upright failed, causing the rack with 2 bikes strapped on to drop and drag on the highway. As I moved into the shoulder, the rack snapped off the back of the car, flew 10 feet up, flipped with the bikes, & crashed on the pavement. We were lucky that the rack and bikes didn't hit a car behind us. The impact was so hard it bent the metal of the hitch. Upon researching what others said, and it seems that there are many reviews online where people mention that the rack is not secure. I found lots of cases where someone said their rack fell from the upright position while driving. And of course these are only the people who chose to post their comments. Our rack had only been used a few dozen times over the last few years, so was in new shape, so it's not that the rack was old or damaged. It's simply that the rack has a flawed design making it unsafe: 1. The rack is too wobbly for the weight of ebikes (ours were both under the limit) - many users mention this which probably contributes to the rack falling down. 2. The twist type locking mechanisms obviously are flawed and must strip somehow even when fully locked (there are many, many reviews online mentioning this) 3. The pin that engages with the hitch is too short and should go all the way through the hitch and lock (the small curved tip obviously can come loose with the wobbly rack) Thule says this happened because we used a hitch 2" to 1.25" adapter, but neither the hitch receiver or the adapter came loose from the car, and they allow either size to be used for the rack. The root cause is the locking mechanism holding the rack upright which failed, for us and lots of others. Thule says this should be retightened every 200 miles - we had only driven 50. Thule says this happened because our hitch metal was soft, which is crazy - it's rated for 3500 lbs towing.

Driver side rear door lock electrical actuator will not lock or unlock the door. Door has to be manually unlocked. In the event of an emergency, it will delay the egress of a passenger in the rear seat. The issue would make it near impossible to unlock the door in an emergency especially if it were submerged in water. This is a safety issue and has occurred on a number of these Nissan vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.
