2015 AUDI Q7 Complaints and Recall Information

The 2015 AUDI Q7 has 4 complaints and 3 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report engine oil consumption issues and problems with the windshield wiper arm breaking during operation. There are also complaints about delays in warranty repairs related to the catalyst converter and DEF gas system errors.

  • Excessive oil consumption. The engine uses large amounts of oil and leaks persist despite frequent oil changes and refills.
  • Windshield wiper arm failure. The right passenger side wiper arm broke off while in use, posing a hazard to other drivers. This issue appears in multiple model years.
  • Catalyst converter malfunction. The catalyst converter requires replacement due to DEF gas cleanup failure. Repairs under warranty are delayed by dealer and corporate communication issues.
  • Check engine light activation. Error code P20EE00 triggers the engine light related to the DEF gas system and catalyst converter problems.

Three recalls affect this vehicle, involving safety label accuracy, axle weight ratings, and fuel system components. The recalls focus on load rating labels and potential fuel leaks that could increase crash or fire risks.

  • Certification label error. (NHTSA recall 23V086000) 12,100 vehicles have incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating labels that may cause overloading. Dealers install a corrected overlay label free of charge to reduce crash risk. Owner notifications began in April 2023.
  • Fuel pump flange defect. (NHTSA recall 17V298000) Over 240,000 vehicles may have cracked fuel pump flanges causing fuel leaks and fire risks. Dealers replace defective flanges or apply protective film at no cost. Recall started July 2017.

Owners facing repeated engine repairs, safety-related defects, or unresolved recall repairs on this vehicle should consider reviewing their state’s lemon law protections. Legal rights may apply when defects significantly affect vehicle use or safety.

ENGINE

Warranty will be over in 60 days; the Catalyst Coverter is going back, the Audi dealer and Audi Corporate are delaying the fixture do to some mis communication between dealer and corporate. The problem has to do with DEF gases not being cleanup. The error code is P20EE00 and the engine light is on. The part is under warranty and Audi Corporate is delaying the fixt because the do not wish to pay for the cost. They have had my vehicle for a full week and no decision when to replace the part. I strongly believe they want the warranty to expire so the customer has to pay for cost of the catalyst. The dealer has verified that part is under warranty but corporate does NOT response to the dealer.0

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Right passenger windshield wiper arm, broke off and windshield during driving. It started to sprinkle and the automatic windshield wipers came on. The right passenger side wiper arm broke off and went flying over the vehicle. Fortunately the vehicle behind me was far away and was able to maneuver out of the way. I checked and the whole arm broke, not the wiper blade. The drivers side is fine. I read that this is a common issue and that many drivers have had the exact issue on the same side. This spans over several years. I saw from 2008 Q7 to 2016.

ENGINE

Engine started knocking. Excessive use of oil in vehicle. Even after putting oil in and getting the oil changed several times, the vehicle constantly leaks and is consuming massive amounts of oil.
