2014 AUDI A7 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2014 AUDI A7 has 3 complaints and 2 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with fuel system malfunctions, including fuel leaks and engine shutdowns. Other complaints include inaccurate speedometer readings and steering column misalignment.
Common Issues
- Fuel leakage and engine shutdown. Vehicle emits fuel odor then shuts down and fails to start. Fuel sprays and leaks around the engine, possibly from injectors or vacuum lines.
- Inaccurate speedometer readings. Speedometer displays incorrect information while driving, affecting vehicle operation feedback.
- Steering column misalignment. Steering column is off alignment, creating a potential risk of accidental collision.
- ECM/PCM communication loss. Control system logs faults indicating lost communication with the engine control module, causing operational malfunctions.
Two recalls affect the 2014 Audi A7 relating to passenger airbag systems and fuel delivery components. These recalls address safety-critical systems including the occupant classification sensor and fuel lines.
Recalls
- Passenger airbag sensor. NHTSA recall 18V370000 covers 139,249 vehicles. The passenger occupant detection system may malfunction due to wear of the body-sensing mat, causing the airbag to fail proper deployment in a crash. Dealers will install a PODS system repair kit free of charge.
- Fuel line defect. NHTSA recall 17V781000 affects 48,693 vehicles. The fuel line contains a compression point that may weaken, risking fuel leaks and potential fires if near ignition sources. Dealers will replace the fuel line free of charge.
Owners facing repeated repairs, safety defects, or unresolved recall issues with their 2014 Audi A7 may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Such circumstances often warrant consultation with a consumer protection attorney familiar with automotive defect cases.

Recently just purchased car at 64000 miles. 10 days after purchase, while driving on residential streets, noticed fuel odor, then vehicle shutting down. Unable to start, would crank but not start. Had to get towed. Next day added a gallon of gas, was able to start car, but immediately seen fuel spraying and leaking in engine, possibly from injectors, vacuum. Haven’t gotten repaired yet as I am trying to either have dealership fix issues or Audi due to known issues/recall. Hoping to receive some resolution to start repairs
