Recalls- Air bag inflator defect (19V502000). Affects 9555 vehicles. The passenger frontal air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation from long-term exposure to humidity and temperature changes. This explosion can send metal fragments into occupants causing serious injury or death. Honda will replace the inflator free of charge. Recall began August 12, 2019.
- Improper inflator installation (19V378000). Covers 19138 vehicles. The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement, risking improper deployment during a crash. Honda will inspect and, if needed, replace the module assembly at no cost. Notification started July 5, 2019.
- Air bag inflator rupture risk (18V042000). Applies to certain vehicles registered in various US states and territories including the 2009 TSX. Propellant degradation can cause the frontal air bag inflator to explode sending metal shards into occupants. Honda began replacing inflators on February 16, 2018.
- Inflator rupture and fragment hazard (16V346000). Affects over 2.7 million vehicles including 2009-2011 TSX models in selected states with higher humidity and temperature exposure. Failure of the air bag inflator may send metal fragments into passengers causing injury or death. Recall service is free and began in March 2017.
- Air bag inflator rupture (17V030000). Covers 977708 vehicles sold or registered across multiple zones, including the 2009 TSX. Propellant degradation in the inflator can cause rupture, projecting metal fragments at occupants. Honda will replace the inflator at no charge. Owners were notified with follow-ups when parts became available.
